Its like my boss said today if it was published in a newspaper and was not true the paper could be sued for the loss of income to that dealer. I would believe a reporter has talked to someone in charge if its published

Signer Buick cadillac in Newark, ca

I went by their lot a couple weeks ago, and I did not see a single new Buick on the entire lot.

Also, add Holiday Chevrolet of Farmington Hills, MI. They were on Channel 4 the day of the announcements and the owner said she was closing. I think that's official enough. She was on the news because she owned a Chrysler dealer that was closing too and got hit twice... bad luck.
EVS has 3 or 4 dealerships.

Slander (or liable for print) is hard to enforce, all you have to do is put "allegedly" or "according to an unnamed source" to skirt passed the laws.

Re: GMI Dealer Closing List (Official List)

You can also add Darryl Burke Chevrolet from Fuquay-Varina North Carolina for getting a letter on Friday.

Also, Doug Jones Chevrolet in Benson, NC closed 2 weeks ago.

GM just needs to put it out there and let the chips fall.

One of our local Dodge dealers already has a "everything must go" ad in the local paper.

Wonder if they are getting coop advertising help from Chrysler?

A good question to ask of GM also.
It could be a big mistake that Chrysler published that list. I know it doesn't make since, but a lot of people will not purchase a car from a dealer going out of business. That would make Chrysler liable for any left over inventory from the dealers. GM is trying to avoid that.

Re: GMI Dealer Closing List (Official List)

What can we expect to happen with the prices of the new cars on the lots of the dealers who have lost their franchise.

Hoping for a deal on a G8 or CTS RWD that I can afford.

I thought nsap's first post was quite clear! If you don't have a link to prove it don't submit it!

Re: GMI Dealer Closing List

it's not a bad idea chrysler put out the list because the dealers have 3 weeks to sell the cars. Gm's terminations don't go into effect until 2010.

Do you have a source? (Honest question, as I'm wondering what NC, and Triangle area, dealers are closing. I saw an article following the announcement of Chrysler dealers, but nothing yet about GM, but then GM didn't put out a list.)

Re: GMI Dealer Closing List

No dealer in Louisiana has been publicly identified as having received a letter although quite a few denials have been issued. One has said he wouldn't make an announcement had he received a letter because credit might be cut off and employees might jump ship. Does that mean he would lie to his creditors and employees when the subject comes up? The subject is going to come up.
