Update: Even More New GM Incentives; Pull-A-Head + GMAC Bonus Added

Source: GM Email

Over the past 24 hours - my brother has received the following email offers from General Motors. He owns a 2006 GMC Sierra.

OFFER: TWO WAIVED MONTHLY PAYMENTS

GET OUT OF YOUR LEASE EARLY AND INTO A NEW GM VEHICLE TODAY

GM will waive, refund or credit up to two (2) monthly payments not yet due on your current contract. To take advantage of this limited-time offer, you must turn in your current vehicle with a GMAC or SFSC contract that has a scheduled end date/special prepayment date no later than January 2, 2009 and take delivery of an eligible new 2006, 2007 or 2008 GM vehicle by March 31, 2008.

OFFER: $ 1000 CASH BACK IF NEW VEHICLE IS FINANCED WITH GMAC

Plus, a $1,000 Purchase Down Payment Bonus is available to customers who finance their eligible new vehicle through the dealer and GMAC. Check your local dealer for special incentives in your area.

OFFER: $ 1000 CASH BACK FOR CURRENT GM OWNER

Now through January 31, 2008, current GM owners receive $1,000 when you purchase or $500 when you lease a NEW '07 or 08' GMC. Offer available if you currently own or lease a Model Year 1999 or newer!

OFFER: TOPPED OFF GM CARD OF $ 3000

PURCHASE OR LEASE AN ELIGIBLE, NEW GM VEHICLE BY JANUARY 31, 2008, AND RECEIVE UP TO $3,000 IN TOPPED-OFF EARNINGS.

Now's a great time to let your GM Card from HSBC Bank* put you behind the wheel of a new GM vehicle. That's because your GM Card Earnings just got a lift — to $3,000. From January 3 through January 31, 2008 only, take advantage of $3,000 in total Earnings to use toward the purchase or lease of select '07 and '08 GM vehicles. Choose the one that's perfect for you, like the Cadillac CTS — the 2008 Motor Trend Car of the Year — the Chevy Malibu — the car you cannot ignore — or the finest luxury crossover ever, the Buick Enclave. Act now. Your exclusive offer ends January 31, 2008.

OFFER: $ 2000 CASH BACK ON NEW GMC SIERRA

www.gmctruck.com

For those of you not keeping score, that's a total of $ 7000 + 2 payments not made...for a total of over $ 8000.

For those of you wondering...my brother is planning to go car shopping today.

You might say GM is forcing him to.

how much could I get off a G6? I do get supplier and the 3K for the GM card..
I am also going from a lease to a purchase. Thanks

EDIT: didn't really mean to hijack this thread, I just wish there was a website I could go to so I didn't have to visit a dealer every time I see something like this.

My advise: There are thousands of 2007 G6s on dealer lots.

Find one near you...

2 free payments on a lease pull ahead is not that great of a deal.
GM has done as many as 9 for me in the past and I've never gotten less than 3.
So maybe he should wait to see if they sweeten the deal.

I was told you can't use the GM card and Supplier Discount at the same time.

How do you get the $2000 top-off allowance on the GM card? The link sends me to my earnings statement, and i can't find where to go.

That is correct. You cannot combine GM Card rebates with the GM Employee or Supplier programs - Unless you have the GM Family Card, but that one only gives back 1% on purchases instead of 5%. (Standard cards can be converted to Family cards, and points earned can also be converted at a 1 for 5 ratio.

Not all card members will get this bonus. If you didn't get mailing with the offer, like me, you probably don't qualify. You can call 800-947-1000 to confirm if you qualify or not.

GM hasn't offered more than 2 payments waived in nearly a year. My lease is up in March and I've been watching for better offers since last spring. What I find most odd, is that they are offering Pull-Ahead users $1000 extra rebate if you purchase and finance a new vehicle through GMAC, but there's no extra cash offered if you lease again. Seems stupid to me.

Only seems stupid if one doesn't think about it.

If I bought my 2008, would have got the $1,000 and a 4.9% rate.

Did a SmartBuy, picked up two payments, waived the disposal fee, got $300 to put down, a 3.35% rate and a $1,500 kick up in residual value, and GM has to sweat the future value.

So there is plenty more incentives in a SmartLease and SmartBuy.

Yes, there are still various incentives on both leasing and buying. And, yes, GM takes the risk of missing the residual and losing money. But, the car companies usually try to make leasing as attractive as possible since leasing gives the company a better chance at selling the customer another new car sooner. Customer's who buy tend to keep their car longer, which delays GM's chance at selling another new car to the same customer (and also reduces the dealer's opportunity to put a low-mileage 2-3 yr old vehicle on their used lot). So it's just odd for the GMAC to be pushing a lessee into a purchase rather than another lease.

Where did you hear that? Pull ahead for 2 months never went away. So it really is not new. Its been two months since January of 2007 and in June/July? It was a 4 month pull ahead.

Currently there are certain SUVs you can pull ahead 4 months worth of payments provided you go into another of these SUVs. I'll pull it off my incentive sheet Monday..

My lease ends in October, I currently owe $1,555.68 to get out this month. It would cost me $305 monthly for a V6 XE Aura with Preferred & convenience packages.

Im speaking mostly as a sales consultant in Canada.
For instance, those that played WISH AND WIN throughout December and November will be allowed to use their winnings past Jan 10 (until February 29 in fact).
Since the min. to win was $1000 off a purchase or lease of a new vehicle, this (in most cases) is more than 2 months of a pull ahead program. Assuming that most monthly lease payments average $350/mo taxes in, the min. $1000 is like taking care of THREE payments.
Its incenetives like this we will see in Canada more than PULL AHEADS...
