Top 20 U.S. new car sales (Jan - June 2006)

The Accord and the Camry are steady. People don't hate the new Civic as much as GMIers would love to think. Nice increase for the Cobalt and the Impala. I think the Malibu's drop went over the to G6... the numbers seem to suggest so.

The Altima is down, but the redesign is just around the corner. The new Sonata doing surprisingly well.

As nice as that is to show that the Cobalt and the Impala are doing better that still shows they have a long way to go.
--------------------
Wait a minute, Ford is still selling the Taurus? And it is outselling the Fusion!?
------------------
If I could take a quote from davs305Z from a long time ago, commenting on the success of the Mustang, in light of GM's saying the coupe market was drying up.

"Its nice to see the Mustang is doing so well. The bottom is falling out of the coupe market, just like GM said it was."

Chevy knows the Malibu is needing a redesign based on these numbers.

Yeah, because the Taurus is a fleet only model for Ford.

Just wait for the refreshed Malibu. It looks like for the year the G6 will probably replace the 'Bu. It will be really nice to get the Malibu, G6, and Aura on that list!

YEAH!! Go charge, at that rate they'll take over the world!!!

Looks good for GM, most of their cars are on the rise, but what happened to the Malibu!! Did the fusion steal those sales?

the malibu is about as appealing as old shoes one found in the dumpster. that car BLOWS.

The new Malibu just based on looks is a huge winner compared to the current ugly disproportionate tumor on wheels.

I don't like how the corolla and matrix combine for total sales. The Charger and Magnum don't combing sales. The Jetta and Golf don't combine sales. Why the hell does Toyota? And is the Camry combined with the Solara? which would further skew sales numbers.

Yeah... that question pops up like every time there's a sales chart.

The thing is that what Toyota is doing is allowed for everyone. The Matrix's official model name is "Corolla Matrix" and the Solara's is "Camry Solara." GM, Ford, Honda, and everyone else can do that too if they wish, but whether they have the balls to mess with model names like that is another story. "Charger Magnum," "Golf Jetta," "Lancer Outlander," or "Impala Monte Carlo," anyone?

Not anymore.

July 2006
Fusion: 13,612
Taurus: 8,217

Unlike the fleet Taurus, the Fusion has extremely low fleet sales. Just imagine if the Fusion had fleet sales of 40-50% like some other sedans.

"Retail demand continues to grow for Ford's new mid-size sedans (Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln Zephyr). Retail sales for the trio totaled 19,440, up 18 percent compared with June 2006. Total sales (including fleet deliveries) were 20,129."

300C and Charger are doing well. The Next Impala and Grand Prix can't get here soon enough.
