It only works on 2008 models.

I just priced a 2008 online and the MSRP (fully loaded) is $24,225. The GMS price is $22,292, so you save almost $2000.

There is also $1500 cash back, so the final price is $20,792.

Re: Report: GM Looking To Boost July Sales; Will Broaden Employee Discounts

FWIW, I called GM Drive here in Canada to see if an Active US Employee can sponsor a friend or neighbour here in Canada for this promotion and THEY CAN NOT! Any obtained GMS incentive code will NOT be honoured and any dealer using the US GMS number will be CHARGED BACK.

However, as its always been, a US GM Employee can sponsor a 'linear' Canadian family member for the GM Employee Purchase Program for both Option 1 and Option 2.

Thanks GM for NOTHING!

I am ready to buy a new Corvette tonight - I know where it is - but I do not know a GM employee to beg, borrow or pay off for their "pricing voucher".

Guess this is like the GM Card "Top Off" rebates that somehow my account never gets called out....I have $ 3,500 just sitting there...

I have bought 10 GM products in the past nine years....

This new "GM pass it down" promo is just another attempt to leave us current GM customers holding...holding NOTHING

Thank your GM for rewarding my years of purchases..

Guess I am headed to my local Porsche dealer...see what they have.

Re: Report: GM Looking To Boost July Sales; Will Broaden Employee Discounts

I have a GSU certificate and I am getting ready to buy a new Corvette. If anyone has an extra GMS certificate and wants to give it to me, it would be appreciated greatly. All you need to do is Visit gmfamilyfirst.com, log in and select “New Vehicle Purchase” in the left navigation menu
to get an authorization number put in my date of birth, 01/29/1959 and
my ZIP code, 91709. Then a screen will come up with 9 digit authorization number followed by - GMS and a redeem by date.

Then just email me the authorization number and the redeem by date to me at renta650h@aol.com.

Thanks

Re: Report: GM Looking To Boost July Sales; Will Broaden Employee Discounts

i didnt think the employee discount even was good for the corvette. anyone crying about a couple grand off a vette obviously doesnt want a vette all that badly. sure go to porshe...im sure you'll save tons of cash rather then getting a vette. i could save a ton of cash and get a kia, but im sorry i have standards and am loyal to GM.

I agree.........GM always screws repeat buyers. I guess they make the assumption that we will be back. They reward Toyota buyers.............
I really hate the GM rebate game.....................that's why many peope went to Toyota and Honda.
It takes me forever to buy a GM car or truck playing the pain in the a** rebate game.
I guess GM wants me to go around begging for a number...............
I just don't understand.

AS ive said before, US programs always suck (WTF is a 72 hour sale? LOL...our programs run quarterly at a time, lol).
In Canada, you can be GM employee priced, 0%, all RDS credits, plus student bonus, plus GM card points....right now, an employee with all the programs above, can lease a $40 000 SLE Extended cab 4x4 for about $200/mo taxes inc for 27 months!!!!

Yet another reason it sucks to live here in Texas. Guess how many people are employeed by General Motors in the greater Austin area outside of dealerships? Zero. Oh well. I'll just have to wait a month for it to spread out everywhere again.

Re: Report: GM Looking To Boost July Sales; Will Broaden Employee Discounts

Some of you folks will have to remember:

Did you find a dealer with the car you want?
Will the dealer honor the GMS employee deal?

Just because your on some web site flappin' your gums begging
for a GMS sponsor number (YES Virginia.........a number........NO more
cert. to bring to the dealer.) for the GMS deal.
I have to ask IF you have done your homework yet and are ready to
BUY TODAY ?????????????

In MY experience in giving out the sponsor # to some folks that are in a
big hurry to get the sponsor number are strokers that don't follow thru
and actually buy a car and waste my precious few sponsor #s i get
per month (aka 1 for the GM in the driveway deal).

Not forgetting to mention that GM has had a program in place for the
last couple of years (GM in the driveway) for a employee/retiree to
sponsor anyone for a GM Supplier Price on most new GM vehicles.

Another benefit on these deals is NO advertising fees and DOC fees
are limited to $75 bucks. (Lets see the porchee dealer match that!)
Not to mention that all most rebates and interest programs apply.
