Re: Recall Update: GM is still in the lead
Looks like a good chunk of the GM recalls are b/c of the bosch brake booster and those "dangerous" mini van doors. Other stuff seems small/trivial except the tb/envoy windshield, wtf were they thinking.

Re: Recall Update: GM is still in the lead
That is BS. The numbers are inflated (even for Toyota) because cars on the same platform are counted more than once. Example: Cadillac's 2005 recall totals 5225 XLRs, when there haven't been that many produced. They recalled that same number of Corvettes, when in actuality the 5225 is a combination of the # of XLRs and # or Corvette's recalled.
Same with Toyota - 150k ES330 and Camry's recalled total, not each. |

Re: Recall Update: GM is still in the lead
Who has the most products on the market, GM, so, it follows that the probability, of their vehicles being recalled, is high....

Re: Recall Update: GM is still in the lead
There are so many recalls by GM because they share so many parts between models. Fortunately none of GM's are really safety related, just annoying. Compare that to Honda where they have airbags that don't deploy right or loss of steering.

Well, Aston Martin takes the prize for most dangerous recall... Likely resulting in a crash, that really sucks...

Re: Recall Update: GM is still in the lead
From what I hear on the news, I would have thought Ford, Honda and Toyota had more recalls. I don't know how GM or DCX can reduce their number of recalls- it doesn't seem like there's ever a clear solution for things like this (to prevent the recalls from ever happening).

Re: Recall Update: GM is still in the lead
I would like to see the number of recalls per 1000 vehicles. It would be much easier to compare.
