They're closing the truck part, for now. GM has too many plants, and too much truck capacity.

Didn't GM want to shut down the plant #2? And now with government help going to redo the whole complex? I doubt Camaro will be able to keep that plant near capacity with the high volume products going to other plants.

Thats been shut down long ago to merge #1 and #2 into one massive plant. The plant has already been merged into one massive flex plant, the government deal was to allow hybrid and high mpg technologies to be implemented within the plant and to hire additional staff for related environmental research.
