OPEC to Sack Up $1.2 Trillion Dollars in 2008

Link: http://www.rigzone.com/news/article.asp?a_id=63933

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) earned $671 billion in net oil export revenues in 2007, a 10% increase from 2006. Saudi Arabia earned the largest share of these earnings, $194 billion, representing 29% of total OPEC revenues. On a per-capita basis, OPEC net oil export earnings reached $1,137, an 8% increase from 2006.

Re: OPEC to earn $1.2 Trillion dollars in 2008

I'm sure their profit margin is less than Microsoft's though, so we should be happy to send them more American dollars for their oil. Guzzling gas, buying more stuff than we need, and generally living beyond our means in debt to "keep the economy rolling" -- don't worry, the oil-rich countries and China will re-invest in our country even if we don't...

Hmm, that's too bad it is so little. Well, maybe we can send them some US funding help. Like say . . . our military, food, etc.

It still amazes me that those countries have SO much cash yet they still have so many people that don't get regular meals.

The Middle East isn't as impoverished as you might think....

...all while complaining about how much money they are making.

It's like complaining about getting fat between swigs of warmed crisco.

Re: OPEC to Sack Up $1.2 Trillion Dollars in 2008

So when do we start raising taxes and give our dollar some legs to stand on?

I heard Ted Koppel say that we have borrowed something like 28% of the funds needed for the Iraq War from China and roughly the same amount from Japan. It's also supposedly the first war we have gotten into where taxes weren't raised.

Forget the frickin "stimulus checks". Keep the money. Let Americans tighten the belt a little bit. Pay back into the system a little more and let's get some value for our currency for once in the last 8 years! they are projecting that the Canadian Dollar will be worth a lot more than the American by the end of the year. That's scary people!

To be slightly more on point, it's interesting that the people who try to make cars more efficient and therefore use less fuel are still the bad guys around here.

I guess the good guys are the ones who want us to keep sending all our money overseas.

"READ MY LIPS; NO NEW TAXES"

Oh yeah, that Bush raised taxes... Oh, and he was a Re.. say it with me... Publican. Republican... Raised Taxes. There we did it. This Bush sent me an economic stimulus check and ruined our economy while he and his oil buddies made millions for themselves and the good people at Haliburton. Cool!!!!
And while my Federal taxes didn't go up property taxes and the the cost of everything else did, ironically including gasoline. THANKS WONDERFUL REPUBLICAN LEADER. I can feel the warm flow of the trickle down economics as you piss all over us...

Well, at least the Repulican know how to run a good War. You can't argue with 7 fun years in Iraq. Its not like some Democrate like FDR who managed to wrap up WWII (which we actually won) in 5. But I'm sure the Surge is working...

I'm not attacking Dems, if the Elephants won't act like real conservatives, might as well give the Donkeys a shot.

I also forgot to say he has deprived us of our civil liberties by imposing the Patriot act, lied to American people and congress about supposed links between Al Queda and Saddam, misrepresented gathered intellegence, Killed thousand of our countrymen in a pointless war, and destroyed the reputation of our country around the globe...

But that baby eating thing does kind of freak me out. I don't like to mention it.
