Mr. Gettelfinger finally speaks, he hasn't spoken in a while, I thought he was a mute. LOL

He's sticking up for his constituents. Makes sense to me. Should he stab his own state in the back?

It certainly helps that Sen Dodd is on board with doing the right thing. Write your Senators and Representatives!
They also have toyoduh engine and just missed getting vw.

He brought up a good point about being unable to compete with the Korean autos due to the trade policies. He is right, how is it possible to compete with Korea when they import 25,000 cars (not sure...using as an example) vs. the US exporting 5,000 cars.

Exactly, when are those trade policies going to change that has led to this.

Further more...He, Mr Gettelfinger just said that by the end of December...GM could be gone as a company.

scary times...

Re: Watch Senate Hearings Regarding Big 3 LIVE

Chrysler better hope they vote on the Detroit Three's proposals in big bill and not separately, because how it's looking I can see some senators approving money for Ford and GM and not Chrysler.

HAHA...Nardelli got called out about Chrysler basically being for sale.
This senator just said that they (the gov't) needs to FORCE the 3 companies to merge. Ridiculous!

This is not about sticking up for his state, this is about destroying what is left of America's industry. He is a joke, he's not fit to serve in the senate, and yes I despise his very bones. I wish Chris Dodd would shove the old sucker off his chair.

Re: Watch Senate Hearings Regarding Big 3 LIVE

Chrysler needs the money so they are alive long enough to date and find someone to marry...

Funny if it wasn't so true...
Chrysler's 7 Billion is a dowry?

I'm not convinced they deserve it...

GM:

Volt / E-Flex
Cobalt XFE
Malibu / Aura hybrids
Aveo / G5
Cruze
E85 compatible vehicles
Vue hybrid
HCCP technology

Ford:

Fiesta
Focus
Fusion / Milan / MK? hybrids
EcoBoost
Escape / Mariner hybrids

Chrysler:

Maybe possible hopefully not so sure but hopefully one day import-based small car

If I had two lifelines to toss, I know who they'd go to.

I agree. I was just putting myself in Chrysler's shoes. I think Chrysler is a lost cause.

Oh I know! Chrysler has by far the weakest argument... and being the smallest, it COULD be argued that them going under wouldn't be the catastrophie that GM or Ford going under would be.
