One Down: Post Your Reaction To Today's Senate Hearing!
One Down: Post Your Reaction To Today's Senate Hearing! www.gminsidenews.com December 4, 2008 ![]() Today the CEO's of General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler LLC were at Capitol Hill yet again for the first round of the second round of hearing regarding possible solutions to their impending crisis. Overall today's hearing, which lasted six hours, went far better than the last. Several good ideas were exchanged and the prospects of getting aid seem to be far better than they were six hours ago.

Re: Watch Senate Hearings Regarding Big 3 LIVE
try cnn.com's live feed. i had some plug in issues (my fault, not msnbc's) with MSNBC so i just tuned in on cnn.
Sadly I can't hear because I'm in a public spot so I can't turn it up too high. Anything good so far? |

The quality and size of the MSNBC feed here is superior for me:

Re: Watch Senate Hearings Regarding Big 3 LIVE
Sentaor Bennet (R-Utah) had an excellent suggestion of giving the $$$ support to the financial arms of the Big 3. Then the financial arms could distribute & offer incentives, etc.
Interesting twist.

Re: Watch Senate Hearings Regarding Big 3 LIVE
I think that would be great to help, but not as a first salvo. They need immediate cash, it would take months for those funds to help GM.
And plus, GMAC is partway through the process of becoming a holding company, and if that happens it will accomplish the same thing. |

Re: Watch Senate Hearings Regarding Big 3 LIVE
This guy from Johnson Controls keeps bringing up "Women and Minority Suppliers". Is that an appropriate standpoint?
Edit: Nardelli seems like such a slimeball...

Re: Watch Senate Hearings Regarding Big 3 LIVE
CRAP! I missed hearing Wagoner run his stoopid yap. I was starving and popped down to Chik-Fil-A in the student union to grab a quick lunch. When I got back, Mulally was talking.
It's weird hearing that awful Midwest twang coming out of such an Irish mouth... The Johnson Controls guy and the Connecticut Dealer Association guy proposed the most cohesive and convincing arguments. Mulally spoke with confidence and absolution. Zandi just mentioned what my wife has been saying all along: that cheap credit grossly overinflated the market. Chris Dodd looks like my Uncle Schmooey.
