New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=109917

Another site or two agree on this info, but also include something called the Hyundai Terracan, an SUV larger than the Santa Fe. Might be delayed.

The Maxima is a refresh.

Front-end pics of the Elantra have surfaced. I'll go get that in a minute.

No idea what the Honda unveiling is.

And I didn't expect a new Sorrento this soon. Hyundai and Kia are relentless.

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

im actually interested to see what the new scion is going to be like. I mean I am a hardcore domestic lover and all but the scion tc is a sharp looking car. Too bad it has zero balls and is fwd. Other then that its a great car for the price.

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

on the Sentra note I read in Consumer Reports that it looks too much like the Ion (it was my granddad's issue he gets them) and probably won't do to well in the segment

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

That shot of the Elanta's nose showed a nice, stylish curve. Hyundai is definitely improving their styling.

There are a lot of unveilings scheduled for the NY show. I'm impressed. Interesting that the Saturn trio is all scheduled for the same time - it will be an exciting 25 minutes. I'm juiced for the Outlook.

Some of the "unveilings" aren't all that interesting to me because the photos or nearly-production concepts have already been shown - such as the BMW Z4/M Coupe, Jeep Wrangler, A4/S4 cabriolet, but there are a decent number of significant intros too, like the Altima, MDX, and the Theta-based XL-7.

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

Nissan/Infiniti is about to either hit part II of their rebirth or a speed bump, since they have an all new G, all new Altima, and freshened Maxima all unveiled... that's pretty much their core lineup right there. should have much better interiors based on versa/sentra/quest.

the Sorento will be the new Sante Fe in Kia skin. the Honda may be a teaser for the 2008/9 Accord, or perhaps a new CR-V. bet the Land Rover is the Freelander/LR2 in concept form.

i think we'll have an indication of Saturn's future right there during the unveilings: Outlook vs MDX and CX-9 (big, some-sport/some-lux crossovers) and Aura vs Altima (sporty family sedans).

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the new 2007 CR-V that Honda is debuting at NY. The next one comes out for '07, it only makes sense.

Covered up car used in edmunds article to depict unvelings looks like a BMW...

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

Yep, my first guess about the Honda was also a new CR-V.

Where's the Saturn concept (Vue)? I know about the pickups being delayed, but no Acadia concept? Guess that'd take away impact from the Outlook. Or maybe GM is having second thoughts about the (unnecessary) Acadia? Hope so.

The revised Maxima will be interesting. The only reason the Maxima wouldn't be on my short list (and WAY up there) is because of the iffy IIHS crash test results and the cheapish interior. If both get fixed.....and I'm sure the styling will be cleaned up a bit, as well.

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

I predict the Acadia will be introduced at the new November LA auto show this fall. This will be well timed - right as they are hitting the market.

The Saturn Concept has been called a Surprise by GM which is why it is not on the schedule. The Pickups have not been delayed. They will be shown at the Texas State far in six months.

The thing that bothers me most is the fact that Cadillac does not have a debut scheduled to introduce the updated SRX Crossover.

Re: New York Auto Show Unveil Schedule

While driving this morning, it hit me that the DCX midsizers aren't on Edmund's schedule either. Oversight? Delay? Not wanting to compete with the Altima and Aura?
