New GM Owner Loyalty Incentive Gives $1K On Most Vehicles; New GM Card Program

Source: "Wall Street Journal This Morning" radio program

GM is really boosting incentives on most new vehicles this month.

The GM Card Top Off Program is back and there's a new GM Owner Loyalty Program in effect starting today.

Information confirmed at Chevy Website:

"There is no better time to see what's new at your local Chevy Dealer. For a limited time, take advantage of GM Owner Loyalty Bonus Cash – $1,000 off the purchase or $500 off the lease of most 2008 Chevy vehicles.

Must own or lease a 1999 or newer model year GM vehicle. Excludes 2008 Hybrids, 2008 Malibu and 2008 Corvette. See dealer for details. Take delivery by 1/31/08."

For those of you with GM Cards - See if you qualify for the Top Off Program:

GM has done their part...

Get out there and buy a new GM vehicle this weekend!

Even the Buick Enclave now has cash back!

Imagine - With the right combination of savings - you've got up to a $ 6,000* cash incentive on Impalas, Lucernes and other vehicles!

*$2000 Cash Back, $1000 Loyalty, $3000 GM Card Top Off = $ 6,000

Re: New GM Owner Loyalty Incentive Gives $1K On Most Vehicles; New GM Card Program

I got one of the GM credit card top off things in the mail, they put the incentives up to $3000, but there is still redemption allowances that keep anyone from using only $1000, $1500, etc. depending on what vehicle you choose. There's next to no vehicles you can use $3000 GM credit card points, so the promotion is useless. I suppose it would help someone that only has a few dollars on their card, but I have over $2000 and I can't even use all of that on an Acadia or Enclave. don't mean to be negative, promotions are good, but unfortunately this one didn't work.

Re: New GM Owner Loyalty Incentive Gives $1K On Most Vehicles; New GM Card Program

These are some very attractive offers. I had my offer for the GM Card Top-off program come with my last statement and my local Chevy dealer sent me a very long email with a detailed breakdown of the incentives for each Chevrolet.

I'd almost consider taking advantage of these deals, but they don't apply to the cars I would most consider, that being the '08 Malibu and Corvette.

I don't know about you guys, but I think the best GM products are still not available yet. I drove by the Saturn and Pontiac dealers yesterday, and still no Astra or G8. The Chevy dealer didn't have an HHR SS yet. Obviously there's no Camaro yet either. Seeing stuff like the new Malibu and upcoming products, I'm holding off.

Damn, my wife just totalled her BMW 330xi and now she wants a Tahoe (was not her fault, now she wants more metal around her). This program would be a big help that's for sure. I'm not sure if we'll have all the ins. settlement by then, though. I need to get a supplier/f&f voucher, too.

hmmm...

Older GM Cards have no restrictions on allowances.

Note - Trailblazer/Envoy have a $2500 GM Card allowance for your type of card.

Some of us have the old GM card that has no redemption limit on the vehicle you purchase.

My father traded in his 2003 Silhouette for a 2008 Impala yesterday.

Because of his GM card rebate and all the current offers around...he got a total of $6000 in rebates...

Dad is happy!

If your card is topped off you can use the full amount of the top off. The only exceptions are the cars that are exempted from the offer.

I purchased a new 2008 Impala LTZ in November 2007 - it had a $1,500.00 rebate + a $250.00 gas card.

Nothing makes me madder than buying a new car then the manufacturer raising the rebates / incentives (I own other GM cars too).

We just got some new good programs here in Canada too like 0% for 72mo on G5/Cobalt, Aveo/Wave, and G6!

Re: New GM Owner Loyalty Incentive Gives $1K On Most Vehicles; New GM Card Program

Here's a wild idea for a promotion:

Let card holders of the newer card simply use all the points they've earned.

I have ~$2500 in earnings on my card. If I could apply all of it towards any GM car, its almost certain I'd buy a GM of some sort simply due to the better value most of the cars become. But, there are so few GM cars that I feel are worth the asking price its almost certain that I won't buy a GM when it comes time to replace one of the fleet.

Sorry GM! HSBC Bank screws you again!

I'm anxiously awaiting a lease/smart buy pull ahead program.

That means incentives and rebates have to stay the same forever. If the price was acceptable for you, who cares? If it was too much you shouldn't have purchased the car. I understand why it would be frustrating, but I'm glad GM finds new and interesting rebates to add. Otherwise people aren't enticed to consider different vehicles.

Damn, bought the bonneville in 99 but it's a 98. No loyalty for me! I also have one of the newer GM Cards and it was unclear from the top off mailing whether the extra money matters or not (I have over $2000 in earnings already).
