Very nice! It's about time GM gets some good ads or commercials out there. So far Bob and his team are doing a great. Can't wait to see more....

Lol, I haven't seen it but i like it. BTW, 1901 by Phoenix is a very good choice for music in the SRX ads. The ads have peaked the interest of several of my friends (College students like myself), who normally wouldn't even know what the SRX is, or care anything about Cadillac. I sure hope they have killer ads for the Buick Regal next year, because although the '10 Lacrosse is a great car, the '11 Regal will be the car that will bring in the 25-35 year old demographic to the Buick brand. I can't wait to buy my Turbo 4 Regal next year, (it will be imported from Germany for the first year or so before its built at Oshawa when the W Impala is done).

Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

About time they start advertising their PRODUCTS instead of the "DEAL".
It's really not that hard; GM's got some competitive products. The press-at-large really have to get caught up to the new reality that Hondas and Toyotas of the world are the forerunners in terms of gas mileage with conventional vehicles:

Compact:
Cobalt: 2.2l - 155hp/150ft-lbs - 25/37mpg *GM wins outright w/better HP and torque!
Corolla: 1.8l - 132hp/128ft-lbs - 26/35mpg
Civic: 1.8l - 140hp/128ft-lbs - 26/34mpg

MidSize:
Malibu: 2.4l - 169hp/160ft-lbs - 22/33mpg * GM wins segment
Camry: 2.4l - 169hp/167ft-lbs - 22/32mpg
Accord: 2.4l - 177hp/161ft-lbs - 22/31mpg

FWD Small SUV:
Equinox: 2.4l - 182hp/174ft-lbs - 22/32mpg * GM DESTROYS segment
RAV4: 2.5l - 179hp/172ft-lbs - 22/28mpg
CR-V: 2.4l - 166hp/161ft-lbs - 20/26mpg

FWD Crossover:
Traverse: 3.6l - 288hp/270ft-lbs - 17/24mpg * GM is virtually tied with Highlander, but in a vehicle that offers much more room, hp and torque.
Highlander: 3.5l - 270hp/248ft-lbs - 18/24mpg
Pilot: 3.5l - 250hp/253ft-lbs - 17/23mpg

RWD 1/2ton PU:
Silverado: 5.3l = 315hp/338ft-lbs - 15/21mpg * GM wins: better gas mileage, hp, and torque.
Tundra: 4.6l - 310hp/327ft-lbs - 15/19mpg

You put that in perspective and Toyota is a one-trick pony: the Prius. Everything else is an also-ran. 4speed transmissions in the RAV4 and Corolla is outright embarrasing - especially with someone in Toyota's cash position.

Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

The Lacrosse ad is bad imo. The fades to Lexus is retarded. The Buick is such a clone of the Lexus that.....again...GM is a follower. May the best car win? Tell that to the many Lexus owners,I can bet they are not switching from Lexus to a Buick. Lacrosse is a nice car, yes, but it looks too much like a Lexus which already established itself.
And to put a Cobalt XFE on the top of the list over the Corolla and Civic??? First......if you can even find an XFE Cobalt.....they are manual tranny strippers. My Chevy dealer has NEVER sold one nor stocked one. The non XFE Cobalt does not get 37 mpg.
The Equinox nose is ugly to me as are the rear tail lamps on the Malibu. The Traverse is ugly as sin. $46,000 + for an LTZ? Keep it. GM has some cool models and some nice ones in the future but their ads, to me , just look like a desperate cry. My Chevy dealer has a few 2010 Camaro SS in stock....and they are asking...demanding....$10,000 over sticker due to market value. Sorry, cool car....but $46,000 for that car is not worth it. And yes, I drive a new Chevy. Just keeping it real.

That's an interesting poster. I think they could put it out with the first line but I think the second line would have to go. "The Germans don't find anything funny" kind of border lines as an attack against those people.

Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

Well according to the Chevy commercial I guess we are now better than Toyota, we just need to get the word out there. we are better than they are, but credit needs to be where credit it due. The only new news was the Equinox, so rpe-bankrupcy GM wasnt doing a head-on attack on Toyota or Honda, and now they are, which is what they need to do. Cudos to GM! If this keeps up I may indeed get a GM car instead of a VW, but I will never get a Japanese or Korean car in my life. Keep up the good work guys!

Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

Generally, I like these ads for some of the reasons mentioned above.

And it's worth mentioning again: the CTS Coupe is gorgeous!

I agree, though in the past, I don't know that GM could regularly and confidently pulled off ads featuring its products. With the exception of a few vehicles, the deal was mostly what they had.

It's not borderline, it is an attack. And I think that's what makes it so funny and at the same time very unlikely to be regularly featured.

I like the comparision one, but for Buick I wish it was done more like the recent Audi commercials.

I agree... Especially when Buick's next two models, "Astra" and Regal, have had so much of their development work done by Germans (Opel). Why mock them? The poster may be a good ad for car enthusiasts as they/we understand the intent... The general public may not.

All in all, I love the commercials. As I posted in another thread, the LaCrosse "Crosswalk" ad is my favorite as it is shows off the car's beauty perfectly... Now create an ad that shows the beautiful interior as well.

I really like the new ads. Shows off the great products that GM is offering. I also like that it doesn't mention the deals...help get people come to the showroom and find out more about the cars.

The 2nd lacrosse ad was filmed on Lasalle and Adams in the loop no more than 2 weeks.

Great Commercials the only dud in the bunch is the Cobalt. They have got to hurry up and get the Cruze to market. Cobalt looks so dated.
