Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

The more I see the ads the more I like them. There's something subtle about them. They're not in your face. So many ads are annoying but this is great. Highlight the car and its aspects/features. Simple but brilliant. And focusing on the new models is also brilliant as those are the ones that highlight the "New GM".

These are the kinds of ads we need. Bob's doing a great job.

Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

Excellent! I love the one where GM matches the mileage of a Mini Cooper ... with the GMC Terrain!

The Toyota-GM mileage comparisons are great, too. I hope that one gets a ton of airplay.

Nice job GM ... keep the hits coming.

"The Cadillac of crossovers." Nice.

For some reason it also makes me think of that movie "Get Shorty" when Danny DeVito keeps saying the Olds Silhouette is the "Cadillac of minivans!"

While leaving the Dallas Stars game last night there was a great Buick add outside. "Something else for Lexus to relentlessly pursue."

Found a pic of a similar billboard.

I saw "crosswalk" on TV last night. The car looks GOOD in the ad.

Cadillac Re-Ignition and Buick Crosswalk are good. The others are just ok.
Music is and tagline is good on the SRX ads.

Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

I love them all except the Ed one. I just feel like he's rehearsing something from a teleprompter and has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. There's a disconnect or something that gives me an off putting feeling. Maybe it's the fact that he just pegs my B.S. meter whenever I see him. IDK, am I the only one that feels this?

Oh and is it just me again or does the Lacrosse/Lexus commercial with the fading of the Lexus to the Lacrosse really make the Lacrosse look like a copycat? I never realized this before, but the Lacrosse is very similar to the Lexus as far as exterior and interior styling goes. Just look at the taillights on the first fade, they look almost identical, then the interior fade comes and the layout is essentially the same, and the last front fade makes it look like a lexus that squints a little harder. Which leads me to my next point; the Lacrosse looks way to Asian styled for my liking....

Perhaps GM should have used Lutz as the spokesperson, instead. He has gravitas within the industry and is generally confidence-inspiring.

I still wonder if an old white guy should be the very public face of the "new GM".

Seriously.

Re: "New GM" Marketing Watch

Lutz would have been a better spokesperson.. The Buick crosswalk looks good, so does the Cadillac ignition one.
