Yea, but you probably live at home with mom and dad. You are an exception.

About 18 months ago. Being an Engineer pays well (when I did have a job), and I don't own a home (at least not yet, that is upcoming once I find new employment).

EDIT: I should say the reason I will be able to afford a home is that I should get a pay raise due to my Masters Degree.

Masters Degrees in Engineering allow a 28 year old to own a Corvette and his own home when he finds a decent job. I've got significant savings right now (well I've always had them, just didn't talk about them), so I'll weather the storm.

The point is regular people can afford nice cars like a Corvette in their mid-20's working a well paid job.

Choices that is what it comes down to.

You can afford whatever you want (within reason) assuming you are willing to give up other things to pay for it.

EDIT: Besides, to all you people in your 20's and all you parents with kids in their 20's go talk to your friends who are in their 30's (parents the parents of these children), and find out that single 30 year olds moving back home is epidemic right now. Economic and other conditions are pushing people back home, and once they get there they wonder "why did I leave?" That is unless their parents are particularly unforgiving.

Well lets call a truce? Gm gets rid of Pontiac but sells it so it can live another day. Does that work? Win-win

We are soul mates! I am an American. As such, I will buy American vehicles. More than half of all of the vehicles I have owned were GM products, the rest Ford products with only two exceptions. At this time, I have no faith in GM's management and they will need to earn back that faith. Some of their products are very good, but I will not reward GM's management by buying them. My next vehicle will likely be a Mustang convertible. I want a Dodge Challenger but Chrysler is in the same boat as GM: so poorly run as a company that I can't in good conscience buy one of their vehicles. My interest in some of GM's cars will keep me coming here.

I don't know. When they first started talking about closing/selling off brands due to product overlap my first thought was to just get rid of Chevy. That's where all the problems were. Chevy had products that competed with other products from every other brand. Seemed to make the most sense to get rid of the one brand (Chevy) then get rid of other brands/models.

The only reason I'm sad to see Pontiac go is that it means now we'll never get a production version of the Coupe 60 concept (not that there was ever a real chance of that).

^^^ Yes. Because killing off your best-selling brand is a sound business strategy. Mmkay.

GMC is their second best selling brand and there are a ton of people here advocating killing it.

I never said it was good idea. It just would've solved many of the product-overlap issues. It was more to show that some of us don't care what brand(s) gets cut as long as it's in the best interest of the company.

Today this guy tried to tell me that GM should make 4 cars: A car, a truck, an SUV, and a hybrid. Riiiight. I told him its a good thing he doesn't run GM.
