Lutz Says GM "Back in Driver's Seat" by '11

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...604130376/1148

Yeah, well, let's hope that's the case. But, unfortunately, most of the important vehicle redesigns are on the docket for Model Year '10, Bob, so that doesn't give you much time. IF you can avoid the "B word" and that's a bif IF.

He's just trying to get the attention back now that GMs spilled all of its hand at the Show, and because it was the Asians that got all of the attention yesterday, along with comments like "they're moving farther ahead". Today, the Koreans will probably shake things up even more.

A LOT can happen in 5 years.

I haven't seen the multitude of gushing reports over the Aura and Outlook that some in here had thought. Nothing really great, but nothing particularly bad, so far, either.

Re: Lutz Says GM "Back in Driver's Seat" by '11

"Without pressure from Wall Street, they would never have got things moving," said Brad Rubin, an industry analyst with BNP Paribas in New York. "It took Wall Street to wake them up."

Classic line...what an arrogant fu&k. Could it possibly be that GM's declining market share and profitabilty alerted them to the problems and not some ramblings of a Wall Street analyst. Jacka$$.

I don't think he's just trying to get the attention back...I just think that he's sick and tired of hearing the same story with a different headline every single day. And if he had done this on "GM's day" it would have diverted attention from the cars, not exactly a smart move.
