I like the build-it-yourself part, but $50,000 and it was born in the ugly tree...

Re: Local Motors Rally Fighter: The First-Ever Creative Commons Car

Rednecks have been building TRARS for years. One doesn't need a committe or $50,000 to put a vette or Camaro body on a truck frame.

Re: Local Motors Rally Fighter: The First-Ever Creative Commons Car

I like the idea of building a car from off-the-shelf parts from various mfr's. What kind of fab equipment do you need? A welding/bending torch and what else?

Re: Local Motors Rally Fighter: The First-Ever Creative Commons Car

That's a pretty decent stab at a 10 to 15,000 Dollar car.

What? $50,000? Wow. Pass the crack pipe.
