Interesting Poll at DETNEWS AutoInsider

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...ategory=AUTO01

"Delphi, GM and its unions spent months negotiating but were unable to reach a wage agreement resulting in Friday's expected move to void union contracts through bankruptcy court. Who do you blame for the impasse?"

Over 65% of those responding blame the Union.

Scroll down to the middle of the page, and vote in the poll to see the results.

The Union is the one to blame. They have hard heads!

I agree. If they keep disagreeing with layoffs for some, they will all be out of a job when GM goes under.

I'd say I have to agree with it. If they all get screwed out of jobs, then the union really looks dumb...

That high of a number from a Michigan newspaper surprises me, even though that page gets global views.

The sad thing is reading the comments and seeing that the union members don't see the larger picture and think they really stand to benefit in the long run if they strike. Striking in 1960 when there weren't alternatives for manufacturing locations was one thing, but now with outsourcing being so prevalent, and foreign markets being more capable of producing what we do for less, it seems "suicidal" to walk out on your job now.

I am hoping and praying the NEA is next. They are damaging the country far more than even the benighted and nearsighted Unskilled Auto Workers. I wonder if the UAW brass have Wagoneer-type pensions, good to go no matter who goes belly up? Anyone care to wager?
General Van Winkle should distribute pamphlets to all UAW members: The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg.
Killing the goose has the same effect today as it did when that fable was written. DUH.

Some of the responses are embarrassing to read. I am far from a grammar perfectionist, but a period every now and then would be nice. At least a comma. Perhaps even a capital letter. Anything to delimit a sentence or complete thought.
