GM UK takes honours in two TopGear.com awards
Its Executive Car of the Year went to the all-new Insignia, and Performance Car of the Year to the recently launched ZR1, both of which are now on sale in the UK.
Fresh from its recent victory in 2009 European Car of the Year, the Insignia was praised by Top Gear’s journalists for being ‘..aspirational, appealing and special.’ The team also noted how far ahead of the game Vauxhall was with the Insignia’s technology, with features like its Front Camera System that can recognise road signs, and its latest adaptive headlights, with nine settings. They also thought that the car looked ‘…neat and stylish from all angles.’ TG urged its readers to try the ZR1 themselves if they wanted to see why it had been awarded Performance Car of the Year. They reckoned that the 638bhp, 205mph ZR1 was ‘awe-inspiring’, and was one of the most technologically advanced Corvettes ever made. TG’s journalist also praised the ZR1’s ride quality and body control, with much credit going to GM’s Magnetic Selective Ride Control, which he called ‘…a real breakthrough in the suspension arts.’ The story summarised the ZR1 as: ‘…the latest, greatest…expression of GM’s North American engineering genius.’ Top Gear’s UK edition has a circulation of around 200,000 per month – the largest in its sector – it currently has a further 21 overseas titles and global circulation of over one million. TopGear.com generates 14 million page impressions per month making it one of the leading automotive websites. Link: http://www.gmeurope.info/social_medi...om-awards.html |

ZR-1 awarded by TopGear ??? when I saw they canceled childish anti-American comments that have been in every issue for the last few months (in the pricing section) I knew something like this would happen

Powervette on "childish"...
ANYHOO Insignia becoming an "executive car" is a marketing stunt in itself. Now GM has to pay them to declare the Agile the "executive car" of the year or something. |

Kill Saturn. Give the Insignia to Buick where it will actually sell. No one is going to buy an expensive executive car from a brand known for making econo crap.

ChevyRules, you are obviously not updated on what's in vogue @ GMI. You now say that Buick is good for everybody and everything and Pontiac is evil weed, not to mention the dreadful Car of the Year Saturn.
