Re: GM Stock In old Ford Territory - $12.91 and Still Falling...

If GM hits 5.00 they would be close to 2billion on market cap and by that time close to bankruptcy and thats something I hope doesnt happen and if they mortgage the whole company like Ford did its going to be darn pricey with current market conditions, it looks like Ford had the better idea back when they took the loan in 06

I was going to ask if this was the same thread.

Can't wait for the 'GM Stock- $9.91 and still falling' thread next week with the usual gang of Flat Earthers saying it's a great buy and is about to rebound.

I'm glad now that I didn't buy at 20 bucks, which I thought was a screaming good deal.

Toyota doesn't make the bulk of their profit from the Prius; they make it from Corollas and Camrys. GM's mass market vehicle line (the GMT-900s) probably will have a permanent 50% sales cut. They need a replacement for that; the Volt ain't it.

In 2010 some MAJOR cost savings from the UAW contracts will hit, as well as the economy being better at that point most likely. GM is in a bad spot right now short term. If they can weather this, in the long run things will be looking good.

Delusions.

If this was the case, the market wouldn't be treating the stock like a leper.

Looks like the market is telling y'all something that y'all don't know. Toyota is number 1, period!

If that was the case, no one would ever make any money in the stock markets because the markets would already know everything. Including future benefits/upsides to a certain stock.

This stock still has 5 bucks to lose. So much upside at present time. How silly of me to miss the upside of a stock trading presently at 11 bucks and falling, that was once at 95ish bucks only a few years ago. It never ceases to amaze me that in light of every bad sign about this company, there are a few out there that hold a candle up to the wind. For people so invested in having GM 'win' as it were, you'd think you'd be a bit angrier about the predicament that management has put the company in.

They should fire Wagoner and put someone who knows what the heck they're doing in his place. It is quite obvious that his plan isn't working and that he's in over his head. And if anything, an outward sign of change like removing him would probably spur some investor confidence as well.

Re: GM Stock In old Ford Territory - $12.91 and Still Falling...

8 years ago I began preaching about how bad the marketing is at GM. three years ago I called for Red Ink Rick's removal. people called me nuts when I predicted the sale of GMAC. today, I am here to tell you the man is purposely taking GM down. no one is as stupid as to continue doing what he is doing. believe me, I am serious, this is intentional. notice how yesterday Yahoo started referring to GM.N as the stock symbol? (part of the setup for the North American Ch 11 just like Delphi. can you say practice rouond? 100s of millions for the lawyers coming soon to a court near you.) the BK filing is gonna happen by year end.

^ 2 years ago I knew it could be impossible for GM to go to chapter 11 but under the current circumstances I feel like management is preparing the company to go in, and if they do I hope they know that if GM sales right now are bad if they fill the papers they will get worse because the customers will not buy cars from a bankrupt company and with the a 75% rate that GM will go down in the next 5 years by the darn analyst if the company dont want to fill the papers they will force them to do it
