General Motors Has Announced A Pullahead Through December 31,2006.

Leases That Expire From January 16, 2006 To May 31, 2006 Are Eligible. Leases From June 1, 2006 To December 31,2006 Pay The Remaining Months After May Or Roll Them Into The New Lease Or Loan.

DO YOU THINK IT WILL HELP?

Boy, looks to me just like another ploy that'll flood (OK, add to) the market with used vehicles, thus driving down residuals. The same old devalue the product tricks that have driven the domestics into such a deep hole.

Re: Gm Starts New Pull Ahead On Monday

I think these pull-aheads are misleading. I have a friend who participated in one of GM's previous lease pull-ahead programs, and GMAC gave him a hard time about honoring their commitment; they attempted for almost a year to get him to pay for the remainder of his lease. When the case was finally brought to the attention of a more senior manager, the case was dropped. It was definitely not a customer relations coup for GM.

With that in mind, I think I'd view pull-aheads with some degree of skepticism. It may not really be founded, but I know I still would.

Re: Gm Starts New Pull Ahead On Monday

We have done it twice without a single hitch, once with a little GMAC issue. My wife turned her car in and since she was enrolled in GMAC's automatic payment deduction, they took her payment out on the old car after it had been turned in. It took a few calls to GMAC but a manager there finally cleared it up and sent us a reimbursement check. It was partially our fault for not contacting GMAC prior to the transaction. As much as I love getting a new car often, I dig this pull ahead program!

I haven't leased a vehicle ever, and don't plan on doing so...so I'm not sure how all this works..however....

If it is going to affect resale/residuals, then I am strongly against it. There are only 2 things that make me consider ANY car other than a GM car...and they are....mostly only 4 speed automatics available....and very low trade in values.

If GM had those things fixed tomorrow in most of their product line...I would probably only buy GM cars. As it is...over the last few years I have purchased more non GM cars than GM cars.

Please stop doing stuff to mess with the already low residuals!

Re: Gm Starts New Pull Ahead On Monday

GM has to make money by selling new vehicles not by # tricks to show sales...

When are they going to do that?
