GM sends letter to dealers to vote in Newsweek Poll
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17553636/site/newsweek/
For once, GM beat Toyota to the punch for getting the loyal votes. And even some ethics professors aren't saying its foul, just old fashioned politics. Take that Toyota! |

Re: GM sends letter to dealers to vote in Newsweek Poll
The title just says that GM just wants to win one survey. What's the point of one if one automaker is sending letters to dealers to vote for a darn poll. I'm still GM all the way.

This poll was weighted heavily from GMI members I believe, but it doesn't matter. Sales will be the ultimate decision maker....

Re: GM sends letter to dealers to vote in Newsweek Poll
This is great! The poll was not scientific anyway, so Newsweek shouldn't sweat it. If Toyota had been concerned about it, they could have told all of THEIR employees to vote also. Oh wait, thanks to the huge disparity in workforce sizes GM would still have won.

Re: GM sends letter to dealers to vote in Newsweek Poll
I thought it was dumb when I got the email. Then I realized that there is nothing the matter with that. Hopefully the GM employees voted for GM. It is all they should be driving as well. As long as they didn't vote numerous times. Toyota forums had links the the survey. I worked the Minneapolis Auto Show today and the Chevy area was packed the whole time. As you looked down towards everything else, there was plenty of room. The Tundra display had an o.k. crowd, but nowhere near Chevy.

Hey, it's not our fault Toyota didn't think of it first. If they had, they would probably be touted for being alert and encouraging their proud customers.

Re: GM sends letter to dealers to vote in Newsweek Poll
I am happy for it to happen.
Make the poll as much of a joke as his article was. I mean it is clear Toyota is on a roll, but his article went well beyond that and seemed like it came straight from the biggest biased toyota fanboy from ToyotaNation.com. I manipulated facts and didn't focus on change, only trashed and brought up only negative things about GM. Basically said Toyota does more for America by pointing out GM layoff/buyouts of 30k and Toyotas new plant openeings without comparing how many Employees GM still employs over toyota, ratio of how many america jobs per vehicle the sell in america. Nor the fact that toyota imports 48% of their vehicles. Or the fact that GM has 5 times as many factories. Nothing wrong with putting out an article about Toyotas success and how they made that happen but his article was more of a lets biasly bash GM with stating only part of the facts, ignoring the turnaround and praising toyota. This should not have been a news report but it should of simply been labeled as an editorial. |

Re: GM sends letter to dealers to vote in Newsweek Poll
Heck, I sent to poll to several of my friends.
Does that make me a bad person??

What it all boils down to is GM has that many people that will vote for them, Toyota doesn't. But some people would rather invent a conspiracy then admit they're backing a loser. |
