GM marketing blitz for Transformers about to begin

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/16/g...bout-to-begin/

GM's publicity push for the Transformers movie -- and the Pontiac Solstice GXP -- is about to begin. Next month's Maxim magazine will feature "Killer Talent," in the person of Megan Fox, and "Killer of Decepticons," in the metallic skin of Autobot Jazz, both in the service of winning a "Killer Ride," the Pontiac Solstice GXP. For the time being, Maxim Online has exclusive content for those of you who want to win the hotted up two-seater. If you win, you will also get "VIP treatment" from Megan at the premiere of the film, which, frankly, would be just as nice as the car as far as we're concerned. We know, we know, you've probably heard more than you want to hear about the Transformers movie -- but can you really hear too much about Megan Fox? And did we mention you can win a car?

Re: GM marketing blitz for Transformers about to begin

I will wait for the Transformers stuff to pop up elsewhere.

Sorry Maxim, I wish I could say it's me, not you, but it really is you. Ever since I heard that Lindsay Lohan took the top spot in your "Hot 100" I've been feeling like we're not on the same wavelength. I think it's time I start reading other magazines.

Re: GM marketing blitz for Transformers about to begin

For GM's sake, I hope I'm wrong, but based on the past performance of the director, this movie will suck. At least for anyone that actually expects anything from a movie other than mindless action.

Check out the stats of the director Michael Bay: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/p/michael_bay/

You just need to stop and think about the whole plot idea to wonder how this will not stink. Like other Michael Bay movies, this movie will be laughed at more than that it will laughed with. Don't get your hopes up.

As the old saying goes," Don't believe everything you read!", ESPECIALLY when a critic has written it!!!! Have you actually formed an opinion or are you believing what you have read?

TRANSFORMERS is said to be 'testing higher' that any of Michael Bay's previous movie, according to RottenTomatoes.com.

Producer Tom DeSanto told the website: "[It tested] higher than any other of Michael [Bay]'s movies. It's good, everybody's excited. It's a great time right now because in a summer of sequels, we're going to be bringing something new to the table."

Rumours that a second ending had to be reshot we also shot down by DeSanto who added: "It's one ending. It's one story. It's a beginning, middle and end. The ending works. It's great too because yeah, there's going to be giant robots but there's romance in there and Shia has a real emotional storyline that at the end, you're really rooting for him."

TRANSFORMERS is released July 4.

Besides, the plot doesn't have to be good for it to be good for GM. LOTS of people will go see it and if the cars look cool and kids get the toys thats some good publicity/brand recognition. IMO
