http://www.canadiandriver.com/news/070309-4.htm
Detroit, Michigan - General Motors has announced it will display six historic concept vehicles at the 2007 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance show in Florida, which runs today through March 11. GM Global Vice President of Design Ed Welburn will be on hand as an event judge. http://www.ameliaconcours.org/ GM will display its 1954 Cadillac Carrera Panamericana, a recreation of the car that finished 11th overall in the Mexican Road Race, built on a vehicle found in GM's collection that matched the original car's specifications, along with five Corvair concepts: 1962 SuperSpyder, 1963 Monza SS, 1963 Monza GT, 1967 Astro I and a 1969 Corvair, one of the last to be built, that was customized for GM executive Bill Mitchell. The Cadillac was driven to the event from North Carolina by select media guests. |

I wish they bring the Corvair back.

Can you imagine what the Corvair would be today (America's affordable Porche) if the GM suits had the cojones to tell that bag of gas Nader to stuff it back then? Well at least people woke up. 95% of the people could care less what that clown has to say anymore.

Wow. Historic concept cars, you don't see that very often. I guess GM kept some of its better concept cars so they can display them to the public later!

Re: GM to display historic concept cars at Amelia Island show
The Mustang is what really killed the Corvair. The mustang was built from Fords part bin. The designers of the late model corvair 65-69 were pulled to the Camaro project. The Corvair cost more to build than the Camaro. Nadar was just the last nail in the coffin, and only the first chapter was about the Corvair.
