Detroit — General Motors Co. says it could create up to 1,750 new jobs and up to $800 million in new investment in Michigan as the Michigan Strategic Fund Tuesday approved an amendment of the automaker’s global state tax credit. The amendment boosts the number of employees GM is able to receive tax breaks for.

“The $800 million in new investment will be the result of upgrading various facilities in Michigan in anticipation of future vehicle platforms and programs,” according to a briefing memo from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to the Michigan Strategic Fund. “The 1,750 additional new jobs will be the result of the consolidation of various engineering functions from outside of Michigan to a site in Michigan.”

The amendment includes increasing jobs allowed for the state tax credit to 6,750 from 5,000 at GM’s Warren Technical Center. That indicates the new jobs GM plans to add in Michigan may be headed to the Tech Center.

Sound like a location where Cadillacs only one UK dealer is located but better done on the cheap with the steering wheel fitted to wrong side of car, and General Motors wonder why nobody is buying Cadillac in Europe.

Can't they get those ole Motown stars back from California to create make some real wealth money for Detroit again l guess a lot of the star died along time ago. Levi Stubbs died the same day as my Mother-in-law, l miss them both.

Anything that creates new GM jobs in Motor City as gotta be a good thing, it's a shame Obama does not do more to protect the US auto industry Japan sucks trillions out of big free in America unabated, and Japan shuts the door in Japan. Who is letting them crap all over the US big 3 depriving hem of trillion of lost revenue in the US.
