Seriously, I don't think anyone in GM knows...or if they do, no one's making a firm statement.

I completely agree and thats why I am sad to see the G8 go. Great platform, but will be underutilized in North America because of the fuel efficiency standards. Personally I wanted to see the WM platform here underpinning the next Cadillac flagship (whatever its called). I think with focus on fuel economy over riding what a smaller percentage of the market want in a vehicle, we may be left with with little cars and cross-overs to fill the mass market desires. And before anyone mentions the Enclave/Traverse/Acadia trio, they look way too minivanish to me. The Enclave is stylish but still needs tweaking.

What chance do we have that the new Impala is V8 powered and RWD? I'm guessing slim to none.

I'm mostly interested in the fact that (based off of NSAP's sources) the Malibu's timetable has been moved back up.

This is going to be great. New GM product every 3-4 years W/ current product being updated and refreshed every 1-2 years. AHHH... Welcome Back General Motors. I have complete faith you have found your soul! You build them(the right way) and people will come.

Refreshing the Malibu again already? Interesting.

As for the Colorado/Canyon... it's about damn time they did something with them.

Who knows if we'll even get an Impala replacement. It may just fade away, with the Malibu taking over the sedan offering. The Cruze is supposed to be a nicer, larger car than the Cobalt, so it can fill in the lower tier Malibu sales, letting the Malibu move slightly up market.

I still think they need to give us the G8 as the Impala. Probably just wishful thinking, though. If nothing else it would be a great stop-gap product until a completely new Impala can be designed.

I take that to mean that the information you're privy won't be announced through our favorite GMI editor-in-chief then. I can't see him dropping a hint so far in advance of a formal announcement.

No, NSAP won't be having this information until it is released by GM.
