Gazprom boss predicts $250 per barrel, and soon

Quote:
AKU, July 3 (Reuters) - Europe's bill for Russian gas will rise by a quarter by the end of 2008 and will eventually double, the head of Gazprom (GAZP.MM: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Thursday, repeating his view that the oil price will rise by another $100 a barrel.

Alexei Miller told reporters during a trip to Azerbaijan he expected prices to rise to $500 per 1,000 cubic metres from the current $400 by the end of 2008. If oil prices were to hit $250 per barrel, gas prices would hit $1,000, he said.

If he's right, we will pay about $2.00-2.50$ / L soon. (about $ 8 to $10 /gal). Russia will have a lot of cash.

Meaning I will start driving at 95 km/h on the highway ! . And maybe starting to use my bike in the winter. Montreal already started to remove snow on cycle tracks.

If oil prices hit 250 we will be in a recession close to a depression and Russia will be screwed

Why should they? They and their oil buds are rolling in cash beyond their wildest dreams....care about America and the rest of us who live here? Yeah right. First year in office, Cheney held STILL SECRET meetings with top oil and energy leaders.....wouldn't you just LOVE to see what they cooked up behind closed doors? Actually, you can see it daily on gas pumps. Criminals, all of them.

Unless there's a fast, "free" and cheap way to produce a lot of ethanol, it wouldn't be an ideal solution to gas prices at all.

Shame the oil industry is the only group that can predict the future simply by claiming it will be what they want.

Tomorrow night I'm going out club hopping, I predict taking 3 attractive young ladies home...(fingers crossed)

What are you saying? Are you one of those people who have realized that trickle down economics means the Republicans are taking a piss on the rest of us???

Are you one of those people who think the war in Iraq is about oil just because every other reason handed out has fallen apart?

Are you the type who think McCain is wrong when he says the Surge is working because Americans are still getting killed every day?

Do you support the troops by putting a little ribbon on your car and telling eveyone else how unpatriotic they are or buy actually caring enough to want them to come home and not get killed, maimed or mutilated in one of the most pointless wars in history... mostly for th financial gains of a select few.

Were you happy or sad when the U.S. Army put the "rightful" dictatorship of Kuwait back in power... and do you ever wonder why those guys don't help us with our energy needs?

Me, I say we are a bunch of suckers. They import a hell of a lot of food to the Mid East. I think its time food prices started going up.

Re: Gazprom boss predicts $250 per barrel, and soon

I seriously doubt we'll see $250 oil anytime in the medium term. There is no supply problem, supply has kept up with demand. There is speculation that supply will not keep up with demand and this has helped create a bubble. I've heard several analysts say that there is a lot of psychology, fear, and greed involved in the oil price right now. I think the price will pull back. Of course I could be 100% wrong.

I hate to say it but I have been doing some deep research myself and I am predicting oil to go up to $500 a barrel within the month. Trust me on this, my numbers are solid and the God given truth. CNN, Reuters, Fox News, MSNBC, and other similar news outlets PLEASE LISTEN TO ME! I know what I am talking about and my analysis shows that this WILL HAPPEN! We must warn the people NOW! Post it on your news shows ASAP!

You must have vested interest in oil futures.

Lol, that's the point (in a sarcastic way). These "analysts" are not analyzing anything but their increasing bank account balances. Folks, we are seeing humanity at it's worst. The cliche phrase "money is the root of all evil" is being defined by this very market activity. It's sad, but people that hurt others to line their pockets are void of life and the only fuel that keeps them going in this world is the mighty dollar. You can't take it with you though.............

I hate to say it but guys like Miller have much more abilities to jack up oil/gas price than you.

Exxon/Chevron/RDS/BP/Gazprom together have $1.3 trillion revenue. If they would want to rape energy consumers, they will do it and nothing and noone will stop them.
POTUS is just a PR manager for oil industry.

Re: Gazprom boss predicts $250 per barrel, and soon

This - if it occurs - will make the OPEC-instigated 1973 and 1979 "oil crises" look like minor difficulties indeed. A new Great Depression is on the horizon at $250 a barrel.

This has all been carefully planned behind closed doors, make no mistake about it.

It's like some outlandish James Bond storyline . . . . an international group of evil moguls seek to destroy the West and dominate the globe . . . . "Oilfinger", perhaps.

You can almost hear the evil laughter and see them stroking their cats.
