Is there a new rule that marketing must be in caveman speak?

"Ford. Drive One"
"Pontiac is Car"

Reminds me of that Semi Pro commercil that Farrell did for Bud Light
"Bud Light, Suck One!"
Agreed. This is going to go down as one of the worst tag lines of all
time. They should have adopted the European tag line, then bring over
more product from Europe too. Get rid of the lame American Focus, and
replace it with it's far superior European cousin.

Sounds as dumb as the Pontiac slogan.

From a quality standpoint, they have a good product and that is what they are saying here is "we can stand up to the imports and more than hold our own".

Yes part II will be adding more pizzaz to their lineup and the upcoming Flex, Fiesta, F150, MKS, will start to address this issue.

At least they are not going to copy Chevrolet's, "It's an American Revolution!" for vehicles manufactured in Mexico, Canada and Korea.

Re: Ford Announces New Corporate Slogan: "Ford. Drive One"

Was Ford legally required to abandon "Quality is Job #1" since it was obviously not?
Was there a bet in Dearborn where one Ford exec said to the other, I bet you can't think of a worse slogan then "Bold Moves" and they did?
Where there cuts in the marketing budgets where we are now using kindergarteners to come up with slogans?
Did Bill Ford become upset that Pontiac outstipped Saturn for the worst tag line and thought I can play with these morons? Car? Rethink? Drive one? Please. Awful.

We build excitement!
A different kind of car company!
Standard of Excellence! (Caddy)
An American Revolution! (Chevy)
There is only one! (Jeep)
Ask the Man Who Owns one (Packard).
Because I don't give a @#$% about the enviornment and I like to play soldier! (Hummer)

OK, I'm ranting...sorry.

Hilarious.

Only problem is, if someone from Cadillac read that one, they've already put it to paper.
