truth to be told .. the injectors in the 6.0l were Ford's addition.. not Navistar's ..the lack of reliability of 6.0 goes on Ford's shirt ... and so goes the fix, and the very capable redesign in the form of 6.4l with piezzo injectors.Originally Posted by chadbarb99

Good thing.... the Big 2.5 need to keep the Imports struggling to keep up... leave them in the dust and make them eat it too....
Awww... life is so grand... my truck in the garage and the Ponti look'n good... all I need now is a Corvette or a girlfriend.... hmmmm... a Corvette may be cheaper![]()
Less than 4 years is quick for GM! I'm not really a truck guy, but maybe these small displacement diesels are a prelude to diesel powered cars coming stateside.Originally Posted by rsbaker

Thanks for the info Igor but this concerns me. If the new F150 doesn't go on a serious diet a 250-275hp engine just wouldn't cut it. With 300hp today the F150 is considered sluggish, especially in the larger SCAB and SCREW versions.Originally Posted by igor
major weight reduction is in orde for the new 09 F150 .. also these are the EU specs for the 3.6l .. if the V8 does gorw in displacement, the figure will likely be much closer to 300hp.Originally Posted by yellowlt4
in the end this is all just speculation ...
we know the block have been test-cats in Cleveland and in Brazil - it is likely they will go to Brazil for cost purposes - but from the blocks you cannot tell the displacement they are shooting for ...
so we will have to wait a little longer to know the details ...

okay can somebody answer me this question:"why can't Dodge get a Detroit Diesel for thier small trucks?" Don't DCX own Detroit Diesel? then if that's the case, then why are they giving Cummins (Detroits competition)their business?
It would really nice to have access to v6 Diesel for the Trucks, Lambdas and
Zetas.
Me too...I thought that the company name was Navistar InternationalOriginally Posted by igor
GM and DCX needs to catch up with Ford if they want to look good. It never looks right when your company is late to the game.
I'll make a new sig. Later.
whats gm's specs on the new diesel

GM used to use the Detroit Diesel 6.2 in their light-duty pickups, even had a diesel S-10...
yeah, how about a 5.3l v8 diesel for a 1500 silverado or a 4.8l diesel?Originally Posted by FordMan
