Discovery-Times "Addicted to Oil" - More GM bashing?

So, I just saw a commercial for a program airing this Saturday night at 10pm on Discovery Times Channel. It's Discovery and New York Times paired together on TV, for those who don't know.

The show is called "Addicted to Oil Thomas L. Friedman Reporting". My guess is that the show will be more GM bashing by Friedman, but this time on TV. From the brief commercial I saw, the show looks to follow the lines of his op-ed in the Times newspaper. More "Rubbish" from Friedman, but this time he's looking to take the Discovery channel down with him.

I think everyone should email the Discovery channel and let them know how much we don't appreciate their bias, distorted view of the auto industry.

I haven't decided if I'm going to watch it yet. If I do, I'll have to put my tv behind some bullet-proof glass, because I have a feeling I'm going to be throwing things at it.

BTW, this is the first thing I've posted that's made it to the News Ticker! woohooo

And everyone here is giving him exactly what he wants--ATTENTION.

It's been said there's no such thing as bad publicity, and it's being borne out here and now. The more people talk about this, the more people say one thing or another, the more people are going to pay attention to what he's saying. Readership goes up. Book sales go up. Ad revenue goes up. This guy gets his ugly mug plastered all over the landscape, and the people at large do the majority of the work FOR him.

Thomas Friedman is the equivalent of an Internet troll. I don't feed trolls.

That is my final say on the subject.

Re: Discovery-Times "Addicted to Oil" - More GM bashing?

The title "Thomas Friedman Reporting" implies that this special is being treated as an unbiased news report. It's not. It's commentary -- plain and simple. The name is disingenuous.

BTW, congrats to Payne for making it into the ticker!

Re: Discovery-Times "Addicted to Oil" - More GM bashing?

Well, GM and America may be addicited to oil, but since that's the first time I've been able to put a face to the name on those bias, anit-American, distorted 'articles' he's written, I must say he appears to be addicted to Krispy Kreme. Perhaps someone should write about his apparent gluttony for food, along with his disdain for unbiased reporting.

Yeah, noticed that -- good to see that the Discovery Channel is giving him an outlet to continue ranting and attempt to convert other folks into thinking that GM (and the domestics) are the most evil companies in the world!
