Re: Consumer Reports Rates Sports Sedans
I find it odd that the Aero wouldn't be on that list also if the 2.0t could make it. It adds more horsepower with a turbocharged V6 and a more advanced stability control system (safety).
But since I own an 04 Aero, I'm biased. Mine has 52k miles on it, top notch shape. Complicated radio? Its pretty straight forward and then as some extra things on it that make it nice I think. But I will agree on the road noise, I do notice my tires/road noise much more. If they complain about rear seat room, makes me wonder if they did on the 3 series.

Re: Consumer Reports Rates Sports Sedans
How did they conclude that the CTS is below average?

Re: Consumer Reports Rates Sports Sedans
How is it that the Honda V6 Hybrid gets a "Recommended" status while virtually all other new cars are labeled "to new to determine relabilty"? I've been a subscriber to CR for at least 15 years and never agreed with its car reviews.
Ultimately its "Buyer Beware", even when what your buying is someonelse's (bogus) opinions. And after logging many miles in a friends Acura TL it is clear that car should be listed under "Appliances - Dull" Last edited by Hotspur : 04-09-2006 at 04:38 PM. |

Re: Consumer Reports Rates Sports Sedans
Wait--why is the Accord Hybrid V6 in there? That isn't a sport sedan. What, they couldn't find an Accord EX V6 6-speed? I hope they didn't list "best in test fuel economy" as a high....
I think this list is crazy. You have full size family sedans mixed with compact luxury sport sedans... ![]() |

Re: Consumer Reports Rates Sports Sedans
Yet another example of CR not knowing what the hell they are talking about.
That bad rating for the 9-3 2.0t comes from the disaster that was MY03. I haven't heard about significant problems in that car for any other model year.

Re: Consumer Reports Rates Sports Sedans
So what is there about rocker window switches that the hot shots at CR can't figure out? Had 'em on my CTS. Got 'em on my STS. One touch each way. And that makes the car a POS??

Besides, seat mounted seat belts SUCK for tall people, and Cadillac should have known better. And they just look tacky - to have this luxo-sports car with premium leather seats, then there's this big plastic box on top with the seatbelt in it. ![]() But I garuntee(sp?) the reason the CTS did so bad was (A) they tested the 2.8 model and (B) it has the worst Center console of all time: ![]() Yucky Black Plastic just doesn't cut it in a $30,000+ car. Hell, that CD player looks like the old 5.25 floppy disk slots in the old computers: ![]() The TL is how you make a REAL interior. It may not be perfect, but there aren't any huge gaps like in the CTS: ![]() |

Re: Consumer Reports Rates Sports Sedans
Wow, no one called them biased yet, just that they don't know what they are talking about.
