Did anyone else cring when the lady shut the door on the Volt? Didn't sound good, but it's just the concept. Plus, the interior looked ugly.

Re: CNBC/ saving GM series premiers Aug 6
WTF?
Wasn't estimated MSRP for the Volt at $40k? Where'd they get $45k?

Re: CNBC/ saving GM series premiers Aug 6
You know, here's some food for thought.
People really think that the Prius was the first real hybrid, but the Insight came out long before the Prius. Very few think of "Honda" when they think of Hybrid. They think of the Prius or Toyota. I worry that even if GM gets the Volt out in advance of others, if the others are even remotely better...will GM be left in the unconscious memory, whether first or not. God, that old Malibu needed to be shown far, far less, even if it was a Volt mule. Phew.

Lucky Lutz. That Volt mule didn't experience any "thermal events"...
I hope GM ain't bettin' the farm on Volt. Is it just me, or did anyone notice that nowhere in this program was the subject of small cars for the N/A market mentioned? Zero. Nada. No Cruze. No Beat. No nothing. |

Re: CNBC/ saving GM series premiers Aug 6
It needed to be another hour longer. SO much more ground to cover! What're the next generation of trucks going to look like? Small cars? What hybrids does GM have? Was Saturn, at all, mentioned? Did they even state all of GM's brands? What of Saab?
Ugh, I need MORE.

Re: CNBC/ saving GM series premiers Aug 6
My Take:
Overall, it was a good program. It's nice to hear and see the heads of GM admit what's wrong with GM and what obsticles they have to over come. There were good points. Nice to see the Volt coming close to production. Like they said in thw show, GM needs to bring out more fuel efficient cars and stay competative in the markets. That's why I can only hope the Cruze will come out sooner than expected.

Too much gloss. Not enough substance in my opinion. No questions about dealership network size or branding strategies either.
