Cars.com Releases New American Made Index

Ford's F150 and Explorer are the chocolate wafer to the rest of the list's cream filling, sandwiching everyone else between their respective #1 and #10 rankings. General Motors has the most vehicles in the top ten list, with the quartet of Cobalt, Malibu, G6, and Silverado 1500.

Re: Cars.com Releases New American Made Index

thats neat, nice find.

It is comforting that Cobalt is made at Lordstown and "American Assembled" I wouldn't necessarily call it made until I have the parts content.

I also believe MANY people confuse the two.

I can't help but wonder about the man/woman who gets a paycheck every 2 weeks........do they care if they are "assembling" or "making" a product?

There are 2 Toyotas and one Honda in the top 10....I guess that surprised me a bit. All I hear all day long is how "the parts come from Japan, but they are assembled here". And you start to believe what people say. Shame on me.

A companies economic foot print goes way deeper than just parts and assembly. For various perspectives and comparisons. http://www.levelfieldinstitute.org/

There must be a mistake. The Camry is not on the list. We all know that the Camry is American.
