It was shocking to see how the Asians are progressing while the Big Three fall behind even when the truck market is growing. The biggest switching provinces seem to be Quebec in the Ford/DCX camp, and Ontario in the GM camp.

The big gainers in both of those provinces are Toyota, Mazda, then Hyundi

Wow, this is not as bad as I anticipated, actually.

Curiously, why wasn't Mazda included in the Ford figures?

I had no clue the Canadian market was shrinking. interesting. Ford and DCX are the ones taking the real beating though.

Yes, I'll get the figures tomorrow but there are more 6-10 model year old on the road.

GM will take a kicking next though, Sunfire and Cavilier have both been in the top 10 selling cars for those years. Ranging from 1st-8th but usually in the top 5. So like Ford changing the Escort for 2000, GM will have some growing pains aswell.

GM's market share has not shrunk as much in Canada as it has in the US. Nice to see.

None of the PAG vehicles were included, which are all dropping except for Volvo. Much like Suzki, Izuzu are dropping for GM, Saab is making very little ground about 380 units/year.

Re: Canadian sales figures 2000 verses 2004

GM = down 6%

Ford = down 24.4%

DCX = down 21.5%

Honda = up 6%

Mazda = up 41.9%

Nissan = up 43%

toyota = up 36.8%

overall market: = down 1%

disppointing performance by Honda! I would have expected it to do much better.

Re: Canadian sales figures 2000 verses 2004

yes DCX +4300 YTD and over 1000 of them in September alone. Now they have the $399 Hemi Ram lease for this quarter and plenty of 05 units.

Ford is down to about 9000, 05 units left on ground, down from almost 15000 units this time last year.

Its going to be close!
