I was thinking the same thing.

And from this story today, they got all kinds of free publicity in the paper and on all the local stations.

You couldn't make up a better advertisement for On* than this. A great technology is really coming into its own.

Go OnStar! My grandparents have told me they will never buy another vehicle without it.

I'm willing to bet she buys another OnStar equipped vehicle.

It's great to see that On Star does infact save lives.

Actually, Toyota partners with GM and rebrands OnStar as "Lexus Link" in some models.

From a 6/'05 Automotive News article:
Quote:
"Lexus will market OnStar under the brand Lexus Link on the 2006 GX 470 and LX 470 SUVs as a safety and security tool. For 2007, the company says it plans to expand the service to some GS and LS sedans."

Re: Cadillac's OnStar Leads to Kidnapped Woman, Suspects

We had a similar happening in KC about 2 yrs. ago. It was a CTS also. Woman went into convenience store, stupidly left the car running. Guess what? When she came out, 2 people tried to grab her, and load her in the car, but she broke free, called the cops from the store, then called OnStar.
Car and crooks were spotted about 30 mins later by the cops after being told where it was. There was a short chase, but they were caught. Outside the car was damaged in the pursuit. But the interior was basically destroyed when they tried to rip out the OnStar controls from the headliner etc. and the radio, because that's where the voice was coming from. But, the actual control unit and wiring were undamaged hidden deep in the dash and BCM, and they forgot the antenna sticking out the roof.....
