XTS on the other hand, we'll have to see about that. Good design, good execution...don't drop the ball on this GM.

Re: Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal Confirmed!

Yes, GM needs to accelerate this. The Regal should be a 2011 available early-mid 2010, the rest should be 2011s available mid-late 2010. Epsilon 2 Impala SS w/a 3.6L turbo and AWD? I hope so!!. Although, to be honest, I would've rather seen the G8 moved under Chevy as the new Impala.

Re: Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal Confirmed!

First of all, there is no proof that the XTS is officially based off the Epsilon II platform. There is only speculation and "insider sources". Remember, in the article this states that not only will the XTS be built along side the redesigned Impala and new Regal, but the Camaro as well. Clearly, this facility can build both RWD and FWD vehicles. I'll wait until we have an official announcement from GM before I start judging.

Re: Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal Confirmed!

I don't understand the whining about the Cadillac because Docray1 has said for months that this car is coming. Anyway, Cadillac still has the RWD Alpha platform coming with a stretched version eventually replacing the CTS. There will be still be several RWD Cadillacs.

I guess it's kinda assumed. Alpha still isn't here, and while they could (and probably should) use Zeta, I've read a few times that Zeta is done for good.

IF the XTS is FWD, the GM would have dropped the ball from the get go.
All Cadillac's should be RWD w/some/most models having AWD as an option.

Re: Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal Confirmed!

I'll call it now, if this Cadillac "flagship" is FWD, it's a huge FAIL!!! The article wasn't too specific about it, so I'll hold off my complaining about it for another 3 years until it's released.

I wonder what GM has planned for 2020?

Re: Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal Confirmed!

What happend to the DT7 designation we all heard about forever ago?

Does the fact that the name is XTS instead of "XT7" mean that we wont see the "BT3" or see the "CT5" as had been rumored?

DT7 was just a code name if I'm not mistaken.

YES!!! I want this car to be an iconic head turner as were and are the 1959 Cadillacs!

Re: Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal Confirmed!

Why are we believing one source that claims they will all be built on EpsilonII?
So the plant will make 3 Epsilon cars and 1 Zeta?

That doesnt make sense. Maybe the facts are screwed up.

Having 2 Epsilon's (Regal, Impala) and 2 Zeta's (Camaro, XTS) makes more sense to me, factory-wise and product-wise.

There is no way a stretched EpsilonII would be dimensionally large enough to take on the 7-Series, S-Class and A8 (all of which are RWD).

A stretched Epsilon for Caddy would be more like a 5-Series, E-Class, and A6 size, which leads me to believe the XTS will really be a Zeta.

One can only hope...................

Numerous sources have confirmed it's an EPII car.

Zeta is dead.
