Re: BREAKING NEWS: UAW Details Future GM Production & Product Plans In Documents Released

There are some interesting revelations and some promising ones.

BUT:

The G6 through 2013?

Pontiac is dead.

CTS coupe and WAGON?
The CTS's AND Cadillac's image is dead.

XLR replacement in 2011?
See above.

Epsilon SUV?
Wow. Sign me up. (Not)

Colorado and Canyon till '11?
Wow. Great.

LMAO... Wait 'till you guys start reading some of this stuff. I'm sorry, I'm jumping around a lot, but Wagoner f'ing caved and there is some ridiculous B.S. in there. Don't ask me--read it and you'll see.

Lansing, Mich., Grand River — Cadillac CTS, Cadillac STS and Cadillac SRX continue through 2009, Cadillac CTS wagon and Cadillac CTS coupe beginning in 2009, Zeta products (two styles) beginning in 2011.

Well, guess I'll be waiting for the coupe now...

Is anybody else not upset that they released this info. Sure it's nice to know but I don't think GM wanted the world to know what they are doing.

How set are these things? Does everything HAVE to go word for word, date for date?

And as others have posted, G6 until 2013? Sure hope a MCE or something is due ASAP. When is it converting, or the RWD G6 sized car coming? Just seems like the G6 has been out forever.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: UAW Details Future GM Production & Product Plans In Documents Released

Personally someone screwed up royally. However I've seen program partitions and even though some of it is accurate much of it is not. It doesn't mean programs aren't slated but as to what and where. Also programs out in the 12's are still fluid. That said their committed to placing product in those plants according to the contract but as to what and where like I said it could change. could get altered and programs slated for 11/12 may be moved up/out or changed, all you can really glean out of it is those plants will stay open and fully capacitized
That much I do know.
However theres still more info than should be available. Someone's head needs to roll.
My 2 cents

We all probably had pretty good ideas as to what products GM had coming in the next 4-5 years. All this did was tell us what plants they'd be built in, and when.

I for one am very surprised to see a Gamma product being built here. Is the MV7 or whatever at Lordstown going to be the next-gen Zafira? Or the sub-Theta crossover that GM said not too long ago couldn't be built in the US cost effectively?

As for the GMT-355 pickups, word has it that GM Brazil is responsible for all the new small pickups, so it's possible the Colorado/Canyon replacement would sourced from Brazil.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: UAW Details Future GM Production & Product Plans In Documents Released

I looked again and the timing dates are way off in many cases and who is getting what is wrong to. I think the document was altered to be generic just in case something like this happened. If your looking it as concrete dates and program names etc I can tell you its not anywhere close to accurate.
all the naming conventions are changing to so no longer will people be able to easily tell what a program is by its number.

2011 is the year G-Body switches to Zeta. Combining the knowledge of the Hamtramik listing with that one you get DTS/STS and Park Avenue/Lucerne.

The CTS Wagon is for Europe, seriously are you people THAT dense. You need a Wagon to make it in the European Market.

5-Series and 3-Series as well as C and E Classes have FULL WAGON LINEUPS IN EUROPE.

I must be taking freaking CRAZY PILLS!

Spring Hill will make the SUT version of the Traverse, and any overflow that LDT can't handle after the refresh.
