I really wonder how this is going to sell. The pickup market is going to be a slug-fest in the near future. Much will depend on pricing and MPG figures.

I am willing to bet GM has a nice surprise coming on the MPG figures. The cylinder active management feature should test very well on the EPA test cycle, and as we know - it's standard across the board.

Not a big fan of the website...I clicked on the link. I wish auto companies would make sites that load better, we don't need flash graphics, choppy animations. Just give me a picture and simple site to navigate.

The new Silverado seems impressive, based what I've seen and read, but I'd be more likely to get another new Avalanche while they're still available.

LOVE that Blue Topaz Metallic. Wish that was a Camaro color.

Re: 2014 Chevy Silverado: Build Yours Now

The web site was ok - no big issues to complain about.

I know the new truck has lots of improvements, but I just wish the 2014 Silverado looked newer. If one of these drove past me I'd probably think it was just the current Silverado.

Seems to work ok for me.... Did you go for the $1 a month 56k package with your internet provider to complement your Tandy computer?

Edit: gentle ribbing aside, the website does seem to be slow - certain things change right away, others hang up the site.

Don't even bother. The 2015 F150 shown at the detroit auto show is the greatest truck ever. It looks nothing like the current one and blows everything else away. Ford spared no expense and is puting thousands upon thousands of dollars of expensive aluminum in the frame and body to lower the weight 700 lbs, which will finally make it 200 lbs lighter than the new GM trucks. Plus you get an all new turbocharged ecoboost with proven ford reliability, active shutter grill that is the first in the industry and greatly improves mpg. And to top it all off there is new ambient blue lighting in the cab and bed. F150. This changes everything.

I would like to see the specs on the engines and EPA estimates.

And Ford will use Hyundai Certified EPA testing methods to deliver accurate, real world gas milage.

Just like they do with their "100mpg-e" Cmax hybrid.
