Re: 2006 Total Quality Winners From Strategic Vision

Great for the Vue and the HHR!!!! Those are positives for near entry-level vehicles. Should bring back some repeat customers.

As for the Volkswagen . . . the ownership experience is great for the first few months. Not so much after it breaks down the first time. Try getting parts in a timely manner or for less than a chunk of change. Then how do you feel about your VW?

Unfortunately, the BMW, Lexus and Civic are to be expected. But in the Large Pick-up category: Honda Ridgeline????? Large? Pick-up?

Re: 2006 Total Quality Winners From Strategic Vision

i think the press just likes the ridgeline b/c its "new" and they are excited about it. but as this article goes, idk if they use a formula or what, most likely yes. but either way, the press cant seem to put the ridgeline in one category, ive seen it in a couple different ones so far

Large SUV:Nissan Armada
Hmm what? Doesn't the Armada and QX56 have like the most problems in the industry and rated the least reliable? Have to call BS on this category.

That's a great find. Definitely front page worthy. And it's coming from MSN! I don't know how much of an article we're allowed to post, but if you have a chance I would post more of their introduction along with your link--that way no one misses it.

The Ridgeline, the RIDGELINE! This has got to be a typo. First, it's not even fullsize, and second, it's just a tiny Avalanche.

A tiny Avalanche with less capability. When you need to carry something 8' long - that in bed trunk is useless. Midgate rules.

Hoooray for the HHR, it's nice to see a GM vehicle on the list that isn't a Truck not a Corvette.

The Ridgeline is a truck! HAhahahahaha. I thought of it as a minivan with it's rear end sawed off to give the illusion of a truck!

It doesn't even deserve to be called a tiny Avalanche.

Considered the Ridgeline before I bought my 2007 Av. Might have ended up with one if the Stealership had been butt-heads about their tack-ons to the lease ($200 maintenance contract?!!! Ouch!!! ) Fortunately, sanity prevailed. If I HAD bought the Ridge, I would have been screwed, though, 'cause I ended up moving to another state just barely a month after I got the Av.

1.) I needed to take at least my mattress to sleep on, while I waited for the movers to move my stuff. Forget THAT in a Ridgeline. With the Av, I dropped the mid-gate, and my mattress could fit in the bed with tail-gate up. It was completely covered, and we weathered a couple decent storms on the trip and while I waited to move into my new place.

2.) I had a bunch more stuff (expensive stuff at that) that I wanted to take that ended up going in the bed. Forget that on the Ridgeline too. The in-bed trunk may be great for groceries, but forget stuffing boxes in there, and boxes in an open bed are an invitation to get ripped off. With the hard/locking tonneau cover, I didn't worry about it at all.

You seriously considered both the RL and AV? That shocks me. I'm glad to hear you bought the Avalanche - but what attracted you to the RL?

Large Pickup
Honda Ridgeline

WTF? I don't consider AV or RL a large pickup. More of a SUV than truck.

The Avalanche is based on the Suburban chassis/body - not the Silverado chassis/body. (I know they are both GMT-900s but there is a difference since the Silverado has an independent bed.) The Avalanche and RL are definitely more SUV than truck.

The AV is at least truck based though.
