Why GMI Can Not Post the Camaro Pictures
As many of you know, there are leaked pictures of a development version of the Camaro Concept floating around the internet. These pictures were internal GM images not intended to ever be public. Another website somehow obtained them (watermarked them), and posted them with out permission. The images quickly spread all over the internet which is to be expected with something of this magnitude. GMI's policy is to not post any copyrighted/embargoed material without permission. Initially we were told that GM wanted the pictures removed from any site that had them posted immediately. We complied with this, and threatened to ban anyone who posted the images. Then, a day later, the pictures began to show up on other large sites with their webmasters saying GM had given them permission to post them because the damage had been done. Such as the case we allowed them to be posted on GMI last night. This morning, GM has again flipped their stance regarding the images and wants them removed from any site they are currently on. I know it is confusing, but GMI has to comply with the request. Therefore we ask you refrain from posting the images anywhere on GMI.
Thanks! |

Re: Why GMI Can Not Post the Camaro Pictures
Thank You!! As much as I would like to see pictures of the upcoming Camaro, as a professional photographer, I appreciate your respecting their copyrights.

Re: Why GMI Can Not Post the Camaro Pictures
So as a rule of thumb: DON'T POST THEM HERE AT ALL.
Wait for the official photos from the NAIAS. I can't wait either, but I wouldn't want one of my favorite websites shut down over a car that will be released in the next month. |

Re: Why GMI Can Not Post the Camaro Pictures
Maybe someone was just saying GM was allowing them, either way, it will not be too long before we see real and better pictures. Sure did get people talking, even among friends of mine that are not car enthusiasts.

Re: Why GMI Can Not Post the Camaro Pictures
Can anyone who has seen the pictures of the concept verify design direction?
Is talking about it allowed?

Re: Why GMI Can Not Post the Camaro Pictures
Also, if I might add, some of you have reported posts where members haven't seen Branden's message and posted the pics without realizing. Please continue to let us know if you see the pics posted on GMI so we can take them down. Thanks!

Re: Why GMI Can Not Post the Camaro Pictures
The pictures I saw were that of a clay model with the two halves having different design details.
The muscular overall shape and the wide front grille opening is somewhat like many of the entries in GMI Camaro contest. The tailights are not round, they're square. Interior pics were sketches and have a modern interpratation of retro. Favorite interior detail: a contrasting colour strip in the midsection of the dash which sweeps dramatically into the doors. Edit: Rectangular tails, I mean. |
