Lightbulb GMI Interactive Product Reviews: Have Your Say!

Introducing GMI's New Interactive Product Reviews

You ask the questions, we'll answer them!

Over the years with the help of our members GMInsidenews have gone from being a small GM fan forum to become one of the world's premier automotive news forums.

Continuing that tradition GMI will again be asking our members what they want, with the introduction of our new interactive product reviews. That's right. You will have the chance to have a say in how we do our reviews.

GMI now has full access to the GM vehicle press fleets in both the US and Australia and starting this month with our upcoming review of the new Holden Caprice 3.6 SIDI we will be asking you what you would like to know about the next vehicle we will be running our eyes over.

All you need to do is be a fan of our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter, keep an eye out for news of an upcoming product review, leave any suggestions and questions you have as a response (hashtag #gmirev on Twitter) and we will do our best to answer them. Simple as that!

We will also keep you posted on how the review is going throughout the time we have the vehicle. When done we will publish our full review here on GMI.

So join us on Facebook and Twitter today and have your say!

It's about time. And Congrats, I know the staff here works very hard behind the scenes.

I hope we can follow the news here, as I don't do Facebook or Twitter though.

Having made that ridiculous comment; congrats once again.

Re: Introducing GMI's New Interactive Product Reviews

Great news for GMI !!
Cant wait for the SIDI Caprice review!
It would be good if we could get a review of the new Captiva 5 coming out later on. Oh and how about a Holden Combo and Barina review oh that would be just riveting.
Cant wait to see what the future will behold for GMI.

As time goes on we would certainly like to add video to our reviews, but to start out with we will be offering informative, down-to-earth reviews with plenty of high quality pictures, like the two Michael McWilliam's has done recently.

Material fit and finish pictures! Show us those exterior panel gaps! Show us the material changes and meeting points in the interior! That's the real stuff. I'm dead serious. Put the camera on macro mode.

Re: Introducing GMI's New Interactive Product Reviews

Glad to hear positive responses to this! We're really looking forward to expanding GMI in that direction going forward. We're going to be at NAIAS again (hopefully 2-3 of us), I may be at LAIAS and Chicago. And someone is always at NYIAS from GMI...so we're covered at the shows as well.

As far as the question asking...we will detail it further when the first review utilizing it comes up (3.6L SIDI Caprice). The review itself and all of the content will certainly be only on GMI for everyone's viewing. The social aspect will probably stay on FB and Twitter though as those mediums are more friendly to the process we have developed.

We really want to offer a different kind of review. The specifications and performance specs can be found anywhere and even from the OEM itself. We want to cover things that enthusiasts are interested in and details that are often not covered in reviews.

Re: Introducing GMI's New Interactive Product Reviews

Funny how there was a FB page created months ago, but the name had to be changed so it didn't "infringe" on GMI and it wasn't connected. Once the "powers that be" at GMI saw how popular it was, they finally decided to get their own "Official" FB page. Oh well, guess there may be a way for both sites to coexist without all the GMI crying about infringement.
