GMI Announces New Staff Member, Forum Changes
GMI continues to focus on international membership and news content.

On behalf of the entire GMInsidenews Staff, I am pleased to announce that we have expanded our Staff roster with the addition of current GMI Australia Correspondent MikMak! MikMak has been promoted from our Contributing Member group to a full-fledged Moderator/Staff Member. He will continue working with the rest of our GMI Australia team, including; Australia Editor JoeT and Australia Correspondent BBDOSCV8, in an effort to continue to develop our GM Holden news coverage and content. The GMI Staff has been making relationships with Holden on a corporate level and we intend to utilize our growing footprint in Australia as well as our working relationship with GM Holden to provide impeccable coverage of the impending launch and announcement of the Commodore VF as well as the Australian International Motor Show next year.

In addition, MikMak will be a Global Moderator, meaning he can moderate any portion of the site.

For a complete list of our current Staff, Click Here.

Forum Reorganization

As most of you have probably noticed, we have been tweaking and reorganizing the forums for the last few days. We felt it was time to streamline things a bit, as well as adapt to the changing General Motors. We've reduced our total forum count from 54 to 48 in an effort to make it easier to find the news and discussion you're after.

Most of the changes are self-explanatory, however some are probably going to leave questions. For example, we removed the "Reviews" forum entirely. We felt like it makes more sense to put reviews in their corresponding brand news form instead, that way users can look for reviews on a specific model easier. All reviews that were posted in the old forum were moved to their brand news forum.

Another sizable change is that the GMI Design Contest forums have been moved toward the lower portion of the index. This was done to put more focus on the news forums and new "Customer/Employee Discussion" section of the site. GMI is continuing to advance our status as a news site and will continue to put forth changes that reflect that.

Thanks. As soon as I was I found out, I ran straight to the mail box to see if I'd received my G8. Unfortunately, all I found was this nab stick. Oh wait.....

Re: GMI Announces New Staff Member, Forum Changes

Sounds great guys. Sometimes we forget just how professional this website is for not being a formal organized business enterprise (i.e., we're not Motor Trend or Autoblog). I like the way all changes are made in the name of advancing GMI's status as the web authority for GM news. Now that I think of it, I've been coming to this site for 7 years now. Saw the first leaked images of the Camaro concept here in October 2005.

Its been a great ride. Can't wait for whats next.

Congrats to MikMak! The Australian input on this site from all our Aussie members is a huge plus. Thanks guys!

I thought the route was: Buy a G8, become staff.

Oh well, guess I was wrong.

Welcome.

Good Luck, Kim Kam. I know you will be prudent and judicious in laying the smackdown on infractions.

My oh my how standards have fallen.
Oh well.

As long as mikmak is willing to live in the exact geographic center of Australia,
in order to represent all Australians,
whether they want it or not,
I'm fine with this.

Please get your facts straight.... I've never said I was done with GM for selling Saturn. Sheesh!!!! The Pontiac ordeal, yes, but Saturn's "rebirth" was a complete waste of energy.

And as for "bashing GM"????

Bashing is what a Foreign or Rustang lover does.... I give blatant and honest criticism. If you went through life with everyone telling you that you always were doing a great job, even when you were doing horribly, what good are you going to be as a person? You will never make yourself better or stronger.

GM needed a swift kick in the rear years earlier than they got it.

So "bashing"? No. Passion? Yes.

Plus I guess my original post wasn't sopping with enough sarcasm....

I've not gotten along with some of the Mods on here in the past (but that's another topic all together) and NSAP would be crazy to put a biased-nut like me in charge of ANYTHING here.

A what now? Sounds somehow naughty, but so do most things you Aussies say.

Congrats!
