Re: GMI Announces New Moderation Method

Yeah, just fantastic.

Racism? Anyone one here claim to be able to determine someone else's race on the basis of a post?

Guys, I can't cover every "what if" but please remember that this system does not have perfectly definded parameters. There is still some subjectivity on the moderators part. That is where these "what ifs" come into play. In the end, the what if's will just depend on the situation.

See above.

I should also add that there is a dialog box for the staff member to create a new infraction and make it worth as many points as they wish. This will be used sparingly, but in many "what if" scenerios, it will likely be used. In the scenerio you specify, I would create a new one and make it worth 1 point. That way it is far from a big deal, but the point that XXXX violated a policy is still there.

Glad to see GMI is adopting yet another of the recommendations I was once ridiculed for.

Agreed.
Your picture looks really good in the post office.
Did you win some kind of civic award?

In fact, maybe we can use our Carbon Credit Cards to buy off the cops I mean pay down our infraction levels.

Yes, I helped Matthew (note: Gunsmoke reference for the whippersnappers in the peanut gallery) bring in a band of desperado doods.

Re: GMI Announces New Moderation Method

Sounds like a great idea - an improvement for an already great site. Thanks, guys, for all the work you do in moderating and administering this site.

What do you mean once ridiculed? I'm all for tradition.

Re: GMI Announces New Moderation Method

I'm in favor of it to a large extent... I just hope that it won't be that stringently enforced like the speed limit. I think its fine to call someone's argument stupid if it is... so shoot me. But hopefully this will cut down on some of the trolling and more objectionable comments on the board. One other question... is *** still one of those <redacted> words?

Apparently yes. I hope I won't be charged 2 points for that...

Re: GMI Announces New Moderation Method

So let me get this straight? If somebody was telling me an inside joke that among us certain GMIers, we get points tally? That's kinda unfair, to us certain GMIers here.

Re: GMI Announces New Moderation Method

Well then...

"I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......i love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world"
