Slamming people because they own an import isn't going to be tolerated. I cannot specifically say "XXX" is going to get infractions and "XXXX" will not. However I will say that the Tundra bashing best stay in the snake pit...

Thanks.
I love it.

(Ah #@!$, that's a point.)

($%&#, that's 2 more!)

EDIT: Plane wants to know -- How many points is a flagrant display of patriotism?
Ron, you really are not helping me with my point count.

Yes on the snake pit comment.

Yes, you will get an infaction for name-calling. Its just 2 points though. We tried to establish it so that you can have one or two minor infractions with a major one before action gets taken.

Re: GMI Announces New Moderation Method

omg this is taking me back to highschool, god damn report cards! (I can say "damn" right?)

Seriously though I think it's a good idea, as long as it's not very strict. Only when members have clearly crossed the line should they be punished.

Please explain what happens to the offending post. Is it cleaned up, removed, or allowed to stay on the board and the member notified of the infraction?

Secondly, will the points be removed if the post is cleaned up by the member or is it a no turning back sort of system.

Thanks!

One of the main points of this system is that it is not as strict as just "free balling it" as we have been doing...where sometimes policy is followed and sometimes it is not. At least with this everyone constantly knows where they stand as far as getting banned, and everyone has the chance to redeem themselves. It is a very forgiving system, but we feel the community can handle it...because most of the ones that aren't going to like this are the ones that cannot control themselves and the automatic ban will have then taken care of quickly.

We generally edit offending posts. If it is really bad, we will just remove the whole post.

Unless it's a real minor thing, no, the points will not be taken back. Most of the things that are "cleanable" are only 2 points, and expire quick...so it's no big deal.

Re: GMI Announces New Moderation Method

what if you say someone is having a bad day? or looks like someone is having a bad day...

does that qualify as an attack on them/name calling? Do you get reprimanded for that?
