Battery goes dead

I have a 2007 half ton 4 door GMC Sierra. My battery goes dead if the vehicle is not driven within a few days. I have tested the battery and the tester says its good and also the altenator I tested and it says that its charging properly. My brother has a 2009 GMC Sierra Denali pickup and also a 2006 Escalade that both go dead if they are not driven with a relatively short period also. Dealership said that it could be the onstar or the computer but I don't know if I buy that. I am worried because I will be going on a trip and my pickup will be parked at the airport for 10 days and I know that it could be dead when I get back. Any suggestions because this new of vehicle shouldn't be having this problem, plus my brothers do it too.

my appologys , a few months ago my yukon developed a engine knok and i was ragging on GM thinking it was the piston slape or carbon issues that i had read about . after having several people listen to the noise with the same results sounds like a engine knok my Son a Dodge machanic checked it out and found the A/c belt had a defect ,a piece missing on the splined surface causing the idler at sertian RPMs to make the knoking noise .replaced the belt , noise is gone my faith is restored in GM ,love this yukon .

2007+ Tahoe/Yukon DashboardsCracking?

Here's a few links to some pics from other forums about the new GMT900's both tahoes & Yukons with their dashboards cracking. I just purchased an 09' Tahoe LTZ and at $55,700 I don't believe I should have to worry about a problem that plagued GM (and other Mfr's) back in the 70's & 80's. Comon GM? Really?

I mean this is ridiculous. I have belonged to a number of forums and have NEVER seen dashboards cracking like this. How about I ahve owned a TBSS for 4yrs now and have posted 1000's of times in 4 different forums and never came across this. It's bad enough my driver's power seat on my TBSS stopped working right out of warranty and the passenger side power motor, the same thing, or the frakenstein radio that resets the clock for the last year.. Oh did i mention my TBSS only has 14k on it?

I only hope that the one poster that was given crap by the dealer isn't the norm when the rest of us pop in with our $50k SUV's and their cracked dash's lol what a joke.

And hey GM! While you're at it fix our voice activated Nav systems that don' recognize voice tags no matter what you do. The imports have had that licked for years!

Just as it's typical to find VW (Jettas in particular) with burnt rear tail lamps, the T250 models equipped with fog lights have a tendency to have the passenger side's one dead, simply put. I've seen 4 driving around with a dead lamp [on that side exclusively] including mine, so far.

At least I can tap myself in the back knowing I would've had similar (of electrical nature) problems with a Versa now, haha. Thank God I haven't had to pay for those issues.

Hey Everyone. I recently purchased a 2006 Chevy Equinox. After our first couple of fill ups we are only averaging 13-14 mpg of mixed driving. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on why this is so bad and how I can improve it? Has anyone else experienced this? I don't have a heavy foot and treat the car well.

Thanks,

Problems with 2009 Buick Lucerne

Brought Buick in for service because it had a real strong sulpher smell, the molding was loose, and vehicle using oil. This car only has 4500 miles. Service manager told me to switch gasoline. I've bought gas at the same place for 10 years, never had a problem.

When they fixed the molding, they left glue all over the car. They told me next time I came in they would clean it off. Real nice of them.

A little ticked at the Buick Dealer

So- my sisters 08 Buick Lucerne has been giving her TPMS warning messages from 1 tire.
Air it up- its gets low within a few days.
We cant find a nail. so on her day off she pulls into a small tire place.
This place tells her--- take it back to dealer- the rim has a small crack. shows it to her.
She takes the car to the local Buick dealer.
That evening she shows me the paperwork. Nothing- just something about checking tire pressure... Im a little confused by this.
1 week later- her TPMS is warning her again about low tire pressure.........
yesterday- she takes it in to my favorite Chevy dealer- who confirm the cracked rim. they have ordered her a new rim.

Today I email her and ask her-- what did you tell the people at Buick? this was her reply...

"I told them the whole story and the guy looked at me over my glasses like I was NUTS
And now when I read the client description…..all he put was that there was a check tire pressure message"

I cant believe that she told them there was a crack in the rim-- and all they did was air up the tire and MAYBE check/reset the TPMS...........

Im not mad at buick-- im mad at the dufus who put down- check tire pressure when she told them there was a crack that was found by a tire shop.

2005 Duramax/Allison tranfer case failure

I have a 2005 2500 diesel and the transfer case went out at 57,000 mile. I must give John Roberts Chevy in Gunnison,Co a lot of credit. They know what customer service is even if the mother company does not. They tried to get Chevrolet to help with the replacement costs but to no avail. We were on the road traveling when we experienced the problems and John Roberts took us in as if we were locals and had dealt with them for years. When I returned home I tried to get GM to compensate us for the repair cost but the only thing I got was that it was out of warrantee. I felt this had to be a defective part to begin with since the life expectancy of a transfer case should not be 50K miles. I got no satisfaction at all. Just the company line. This vehicle has been in the shop more than any I have had in years. That being said this is my first "American" made vehicle in years. I must say if Toyota made a diesel truck that would pull our 5th wheel camper I would buy it. I did a lot of research before buying this vehicle and determined that the Chevy Duramax/Allison was the best. Unfortunately Chevy will not back its product. It does not make me want to purchase any more domestic brands. There was a thread here in 2007 regarding this issue and apparently Chevy will back some requests. There was a gentleman with 78K and Chevy replaced the part all he had to do was pay for the installation. That would have appeased me but they were not willing to do anything but give me the warrantee information. I asked if this was the life expectancy of a transfer case but all I got was you are out of warrantee.
