Nice post. Ours is one of those very very early production vehicles that GMC whisked off, and after driving it I understand what the other press members are talking about in regards to the shifting.

It'll go from sixth to fifth in a heartbeat, quickly and smoothly, but further downshifts in this vehicle have a pause, and I think what the press is asking for is an earlier 6th-4th or 5th-3rd from the 6T70. The Denalis and Escalade with the 6L80 always seem to get the right gear; I think they'll work it out fairly quickly, at least I hope they do. I'm not that annoyed, but I'd really like for cross-shoppers to be wowed like they are with the Denali's shift quality.

GMC absolutely nailed that engine/exhaust note, didn't they?
