Congrats dude! I'm not going to say you should have bought the M5 for that kinda money because to be honest it's a matter of preference. You made a great choice and I hope one day soon I can join in on being a V-series owner. I'm looking into a few used CTS-V's since $50+ K is out of my price range. I can't think of a better car to get for under $40K though.

The 2004 CTS-V beat the S4, M3, M5, C32 and everything else in it's class for thousands le$$. It was noisy, ill shifting, wheel hopping and the interior sucks according to some (not me). But guess what? It goes like stink and kicked German engineered ass. As for the STS-V. Why bother?
The STS-v is about more than just being fast. And it's no slouch in that field either.
