This is very True. Hydrogen is not an energy saver it is an energy HANDOFF, as in the Car people say to the power company, "Hi, you get to produce more electricity so we can split water atoms into pure Hydrogen and Oxygen and put them in out super clean cars." So unless someone figures out how to make Nuclear Fusion Power a reality this is not going to solve any problems, just create new ones in other areas.
Besides Hybrid's are not good buisness, they are however good PR, and good PR is good buisness.
