I'm not so sure how to interpret the usefulness of these charts. As one example, am I surprised that vehicles like the Passat, Jetta, xA, and xB are big gainers when they seem to have not-so-tough year-on-year comparisons to overcome? Of course, my theory doesn't hold true consistently, either, as the new Eclipse seems to still be struggling despite its renewal. But I definitely don't think the author's observation and cause-effect analysis really holds, either.
