Re: Your Ideal Mazda Lineup
QUOTE=Stéphane Dumas "...for the Mazda 3, I suggest to add a 3-door hatchback as well as a convertible"
YES! maybe a cabrio-hard'vert? more a cruiser than MX-5 rival?
"Then Mazda should also bring the European Mazda 2 based on the Ford Fiesta in Canada."
Cool - one step closer to getting one in the US.
"I heard once of a Mazda plans for a luxury division called Amati they wanted to launch in the 1990's but the project was cancelled. Except one of the 2 cars planned became the Millenia while the other one was a V12 project, maybe we could dust-off this V12 concept and update it for Lincoln, it could be a perfect future Continental."
Wow, interesting idea. Got pix link?
"for the new Mazda 9, I taught of using the DEW platform or the Aussie Falcon platform for an RWD sedan in Mazda line-up, then the Aussie Ford inline-6 DOHC might be used for a Mazdaspeed 9..."
The next Mazda6 will grow a bit IF it uses the CD3 platform. But that platform may offer the possibility of a stretched version, too. Maybe not enough of a difference to call it a '9'...
I'd love to see some automaker use an alphanumeric like "6 1/2" (or maybe 6.9 ?). If anyone could get away with it, it'd be 'Zoom-zoom-Inc.'
Also, I've been wondering about a 3.5v6 RX-8 adaptation for Mercury...
