Everyone knows what happened. GM and Ford spent all the money on the trucks and suv's and ignored their cars. Toyota, Nissan etc. did it the other way around. Now they have the popular cars and can mess with the truck/suv market but if the bottom falls out of that market due to gas price crunch, they still have their popular cars to fall back on.
